The Sims Team has just published a new teaser trailer for The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy Expansion Pack. Both confirming the name and showcasing some of the new features through a teaser.
The full reveal trailer and event is expected for January 15th, 2026. Don’t worry though, we have a countdown for that!
Let’s look at the new things shown in the teaser:

A Sim goes through several throne options before the final throne object appears. The Sim approaches the stand and puts down the crown, revealing the January 15th reveal event. Nothing much to spot for now. But we’ve still extracted some important frames for you!

Long shot, but imagine if the genie lamp made a surprise comeback? Seems like it could fit in this pack.
Looks more like Bridgerton/downtown Abbey instead of the Medieval EVERYONE assumes it was gonna be…I said it from the beginning: it wasn’t mentioned in any leak that it would be medieval themed but everyone ran with it..
My bed is definitely more Bridgerton, not Medieval. 19th century for sure.
I mean, shows like Bridgerton and Reign do have the same general Kingdom kind of pseudo-medieval feel and courtplay that people do want.
I feel like the crowd that was expecting Sims Medieval is a lot smaller within that group.

Crazy. I’ve been watching this mod played on YouTube for about 4-5yrs now.

Yes but that is to much work for EA. They produce quick and fast so they get the money.
Reusing the table from the Storybook Nursery Kit is crazy. Repurposing a functional object like an elevator or garbage shoot is one thing, and even giving us a recolor of a base game item for storytelling purposes makes sense, but reusing an table from another pack seems aggressively lazy. It wasn’t good taking items from Spooky Stuff and putting them into Seasons, and it’s not great here either.
I don’t mind it entirely to be honest. Getting more swatches essentially of the item is nice. But also Kits are the things that are bought the absolute least. Like I remember not too long ago the community was pissed that the Kits felt like left over pieces from other packs. So I feel like this move benefits players who haven’t spent as much money since they are less likely to have that specific kit.
Sure it sucks having bought the kit, but I do love that style, and I guess it just means I got early access to the object for a little while. Like idk, I feel like taking from a Kit is better then taking from any other pack. Objectively sure it’s not the best look for them, but it’s not the worst thing in my opinion.
I can’t wait to see it .
Copying the Royalty Mod, that is pretty good already. I bet will be worse than the mod and bland. Unless they give us a create or edit a world ability, so it feels like a kingdom etc, but I dont have hope
If there are well done customizable dragons or genuine wizards and more suits of armor I’m sold, otherwise… I dunno, it would be a hard decision, it really depends on what’s in it for me for once, and if they actually tried with this

I will say I am not totally opposed to this pack however I noticed the characters are nothing special and the clothes look like what is in the game already. I don’t think for the price I want to buy it if the furniture and clothing are what we already have. Also the story is silly and not very interesting.
