There’s been a massive leak of Project Rene / The Sims 5! Showing a Work-in-Progress of the World, Apartments and Sims.
This weekend was very busy in terms of the leaks for The Sims 5.
As we wrote in the report in early November, Project Rene game files were hacked and leaked out. According to the news report, there’s been a breach and players who weren’t involved in a closed EA Playtest were able to hack through the game files and pirate it.
Considering that the game is multiplayer and that the playtest offered invitations to friends and family of choice, the leak was inevitable.
Of course it didn’t take a while for someone to snap the leaks in-game and go in-depth with everything Project Rene currently has.
The following footage material has been posted by Twitter user @TheSims5_World. The user received anonymous gameplay footage of the game and posted it on their account. Just a few days later the entire twitter account was removed. However, the resemblance of what was officially shown confirms these leaks are real.
Down below you can find the full gallery of everything that leaked over the last couple of days. Please note that the following leaks represent a Work In Progress of Project Rene / The Sims 5. Anything you see is subject to change and might not be present in the final release.

Anyways, here’s a full list of things you should expect through an SDX Drop:
Sims 4 November 17th SDX Drop – What’s coming?

Sims 4 Mass Effect Collaboration – SDX Drop
Major Bug Fix – Mean Sims
Remember the glitch we reported about a few days ago about Sims being mean to each other…for no reason?
The Sims Direct Communications reported today that they’re fixing the issue in tomorrow’s SDX drop!
Sul Sul Simmers,
We have an update on overly aggressive/mean Sims. We’re incorporating a tuning fix to cool down the extra negativity taking place between Sims in tomorrow’s Sims Delivery Express. We appreciate your patience as we investigated & worked toward a solution.
CurseForge clarifies details about The Sims 4 Mod Hub and upcoming Mod Manager!
During the Behind The Sims Summit event, The Sims 4 and CurseForge announced their partnership to bring Simmers a new platform for sharing and downloading mods and custom content. On November 14th, The Sims 4 Mod Hub officially launched but many Simmers were left confused; where was the promised Mod Manager? Was the website all there was?
CurseForge took to Twitter to clear up confusion and lay out a clearer picture of what’s to come for The Sims 4.
Simmers, we hear your thoughts about our #TheSims4ModHub and we wanted to clarify some important points on this thread:
CurseForge clarified that November 14th was the launch date for The Sims 4 Mod Hub but the Mod Manager will be coming on December 6th as an open beta. The Mod Manager will have all the convenient features Simmers have been waiting for, such as automatic mod updates and easier mod organization.
Sims 4 Mod Manager, coming next month!
On December 6 we’ll launch an open beta of The Sims 4 on the CurseForge client, meaning you’ll finally be able to use the Mod Manager you’ve all been waiting for.
In response to feedback about the Mod Hub website being difficult to navigate and visually unappealing, CurseForge assured players that a new redesigned website will also be launching on December 6th and provided a preview of the new design.
December 6 is also the date for the launch of our NEW WEBSITE, which will feature an improved browsing, searching and downloading experience. Check out this sneak peek of the new design:
For comparison, here is what The Sims 4 Mod Hub currently looks like on the website:
There’s no denying that the planned redesign is a vast improvement over the current design and layout. While we are excited that The Sims 4 Mod Hub is now available to enjoy, we agree with the community that the website needs a lot of navigational and visual improvements. It’s nice to know that Simmers will not need to wait long to have the smooth user experience they were expecting.
If you’re looking for more information on The Sims x CurseForge partnership, we break down everything you need to know! And if you want to share your thoughts on the new mod platform, participate in our poll!
The Sims 4’s online sharing tool has become swarmed with racist and fascist creations.
The creator community for The Sims 4 has put a huge spotlight on the issues of the game’s online gallery.
In case you don’t know, The Sims 4 Base Game has become free last month. Allowing anyone with a PC or Console to download the game and play it forever! The upside of this is that the game has become accessible for everyone!
The downside is unfortunately also that.
Over the last couple of weeks Sims players on Twitter have started reporting disturbing Households, Sims and Lots shared on The Gallery. An online feature for The Sims 4 that allows players to upload their own user generated content to an online cloud.
For the last 8 years The Sims 4 allowed players to share Households, Rooms, and Lots. Considering that there are tools that allow players to technically “write” – including Terrain Tools, Pet Fur and more. There are ways to report such content and for it to be sent to review by EA’s moderation team!
The issue arises with a new swarm of players of the game. Who are now pointing out that there are fascist, racist and xenophobic households uploaded to the game’s gallery.
The Gallery’s ongoing issue with racism and fascism
One player reported a creation that features strongly antisemitic messages and Sims characters, with a caption “accidental racism great job EA”. The creation was uploaded back in 2020 and seems to have slipped through the moderation.
There are many more examples that I’ve personally seen on Twitter that depict actual racist, fascist and xenophobic messages. Some of them being uploaded over the last few months to the gallery.
The entire issue with The Gallery was brought to light by player @HufflePom, who was writing the reports directly to The Sims on Twitter.
Yesterday on a tweet that showcased several fascist creations, The Sims Direct Communications Team answered:
This type of content is wholly unacceptable & has NO place on The Sims 4 Gallery. We’ve removed these uploads & will take the necessary actions to ensure our game remains a safe place for ALL players and communities.
The Direct Communications also released a new statement today about the unacceptable creations.
We are aware of & have seen the content circulating on Twitter regarding The Sims 4 Gallery uploads that are wholly unacceptable. In order to ensure we are enforcing the appropriate steps & consequences, please use the “Flag This ” button on The Gallery to report these uploads.
The Sims 4 possibly has one of the largest player bases now after becoming accessible as a free game. However, it’s not known how strong (or weak) the moderation team for the gallery is to support the new audience. The game is not rated for online activities, which includes user generated content in The Gallery. Still, better monitoring, moderation and filters are definitely needed.
Especially after the latest reports.
If you come across an offensive creation make sure you use the “Flag This” button in The Gallery. You will then be able to report the selected content and signify why it’s wrong:
The Sims Direct Communications Twitter account made a surprising announcement yesterday. As of December 12th 2022, The Sims 4: Legacy Edition will no longer be available for players on PC or Mac.
What is the Legacy Edition?
Originally released back in 2019, The Sims 4: Legacy Edition was created for players who were running older 32-Bit OS systems on PC and for those playing on Non-metal Mac systems.
The Legacy Edition had all the features of The Sims 4 as well as the option to add additional content up to and including The Sims 4 Island Living Expansion Pack.
Why are the changes happening?
Since the older systems are no longer supported and haven’t been officially since 2019, as well as the added limitations of these operating systems, EA has decided that now is the time to fully close the door on these systems.
How do I know which version of The Sims 4 do I have?
If you are not sure which version of The Sims 4 you have or if you are currently playing The Sims 4: Legacy Edition, you can check the version numbers.
Currently if you are running The Sims 4 Legacy Edition, your version numbers will look as followed:
PC – 1.xx.xxx.1520 = PC Legacy Edition
Mac – 1.xx.xxx.1620 = Mac Legacy Edition
However, if you are playing the standard full version of The Sims 4, your version numbers will look like this:
PC – 1.xx.xxx.1020 = PC Standard Edition
Mac – 1.xx.xxx.1220 = Mac Standard Edition
You can find your version number in the main menu of The Sims 4.
How do I still play The Sims 4?
There is good news though, providing you have a PC or Mac that fits The Sims 4 requirements, you will be able to keep playing. Providing you are running a 64-bit version of Windows or a Metal MacOS (macOS 10.11/El Capitan) or above, you will be able to play the full version of The Sims 4.
However, while it is sad to see the Legacy Edition being discontinued, this means players who have been playing this version will be to experience a number of packs and additional content they haven’t been able to before. This includes several expansion packs such as The Sims 4 Cottage Living and High School Years, The Sims 4 Werewolves Game Pack, The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff as well as a variety of The Sims 4 Kits!

Below, you will find the recommended system requirements for The Sims 4 on 64-bit Windows systems and macOS Systems.

What about my save files and mods?
It’s good news about save files! They are fully transferrable over to the full version of The Sims 4 and moving them is easy to do!
Simply follow these steps below to transfer your save files!

Open Electronic Arts
Copy the folder titled The Sims 4 Legacy Edition
Transfer the file to the same folder (Documents/Electronic Arts) on your new computer, and change the title to The Sims 4
Launch the game.
As for any mods, it is best to visit the creators website to ensure you are downloading and using the most up-to-date version of the Mod. The process for adding mods into The Sims 4 remains unchanged.
How do I download The Sims 4?
To download and install the full version of The Sims 4, simply head to the EA App and download The Sims 4 as you would do normally.
Remember, The Sims 4: Legacy Edition will be discontinued on December 12th 2022. You still have plenty of time to get things prepared for the move over to the full version of The Sims 4!

Gain the upper hand with the Grim Reaper himself with this elusive flower!
Did you know there’s a very rare, special flower in the game that is not only valuable but has the power to save your Sims from death? It’s true! The mysterious Death Flower in The Sims 4 will not only make your Sims rich but immortal, too! We’re going to show you how to get a Death Flower for yourself in The Sims 4 and all the ways they can benefit your Sims!
Here’s how to get your hands on a Death Flower!
Graft a Lily with a Snapdragon to produce an Orchid
Graft an Apple with a Cherry to produce a Pomegranate
Graft your Orchid with your Pomegranate to get the ultra rare Death Flower!
Harvest and replant as many times as desired
Death Flowers may also be found while fishing or in rare seed packets.
Each Death Flower plant will produce one Death Flower a day and each Death Flower is worth $240 at the Normal evolution stage. A perfect Death Flower can be sold for $667 each but there is a little trick you can use to force your Death Flower plant to produce up to 10 flowers per harvest.
When your plant is ready for harvest, pick it up and move it in Build/Buy. When you place it down, the plant will have up to 9 more flowers! Selling 10 Perfect Death Flowers at once will net you $5,464 a day from one plant! We triggered this by accident the first time but we were able to replicate it on a different save so we’re pretty sure this wasn’t a one-time fluke for us.
Dish enlarged to show detail
Profit isn’t its only use! If you have a Death Flower in your inventory while another Sim is dying, you can save their life by offering it to the Grim Reaper! Death Flowers can also be used in the Gourmet Cooking recipe, Ambrosia. When consumed, this dish will resurrect a ghost Sim.

Is Your Sim Ready to Meet Grim?
You can bet there is no shortage of ways to die in The Sims 4. Some of them are pretty normal deaths, like old age. Others are… kind of out there. And the more packs you own, the more odd The Sims 4 deaths seem to become.
Below, you can find each of The Sims 4 deaths across every pack released to date.
The Sims 4 Deaths: Base Game
Starvation
This death in The Sims 4 is straightforward. Neglect to feed your Sims for long enough, and they will die of starvation once their Hunger bar is depleted. Infants, Toddlers, Children, Cats, and Dogs will be taken by social services before they get to this point. Livestock will run away, leaving the family. Pet rodents can, however, starve to death.
This death type is expanded on by The Sims 4: Get Famous. Sims who get trapped in the Duck Security Screw 9E Super XL Smart Vault can starve to death inside it if not let out in time.
Fire
There are various ways to start a fire in The Sims 4. Cooking, lighting fireplaces near flammable objects, lighting fireworks, angry spectres, rocket ship crashes, and even letting your house become too dusty can all potentially start a fire. If your Sim catches on fire, extinguish them quickly, or they will burn to death! Pets and toddlers cannot die by fire, but children can.
Death by Fire is expanded on by several of the other The Sims 4 DLCs.
Island Living Expansion Pack: With the Volcanic Activity Lot Challenge, a volcanic meteor could fall on your lot and start a fire. Your Sim could also Attempt to Touch the Meteor while it’s still hot, causing them to catch on fire.
Adventure Awaits Expansion Pack: Sliding down the BamCo Merry Metal Slide on a hot day could cause your Sim to catch on fire.
Laundry Day Stuff Pack: If your Sim hasn’t cleaned out their dryer’s lint trap, they could cause a fire the next time they run the dryer.
Fitness Stuff Pack: The Stationary Wall Climber could experience a mechanical fire, catching your Sim on fire in the process.
Drowning
In previous iterations of The Sims, drowning a Sim was as easy as removing the pool ladder. In The Sims 4, our Sims are a little smarter and can climb out of the pool on their own. To drown a Sim in a pool these days, you’ll have to build walls or fencing all around the edge, blocking Sims in, and wait until their Energy motives completely deplete.
This death has been expanded over the years with the addition of two expansion packs:
Get Famous Expansion Pack: Jumping into the Luminary’s Exotic Water Garden pond while it is stocked full of piranhas and sharks can trigger Death by Drowning.
Island Living Expansion Pack: Sims can be lured to their death by a Siren’s Call, causing them to drown at sea. Additionally, Sims swimming in the deep waters of Mua Pel’am or Lan St. Taz may drown by being eaten by sharks.
Electrocution
Sims can die by electrocution while repairing broken electronics. They’ll need to get zapped twice: once to get the Seriously Fried moodlet, and again while it’s still active. The second jolt will kill them.
Death by Anger: Cardiac Explosion
When a Sim surpasses the Very Angry emotional state and becomes Enraged in The Sims 4, they have only a short amount of time to calm down before their heart explodes with rage and kills them!
Death by Laughter: Hysteria
In The Sims 4, Sims can truly laugh themselves to death. If they surpass the Very Playful emotional state and become Hysterical, you’d better calm them down fast before they die of laughter.
Death by Embarrassment: Mortification
In The Sims 4, if a Sim surpasses the Very Embarrassed emotional state and becomes Mortified, they will soon die from embarrassment if you don’t intervene to calm them down.
Old Age
Of all of The Sims 4 deaths, this one is fairly self-explanatory. With aging on, Sims will eventually grow old and die. It’s the circle of life. To get this death type, have an elder Sim and just wait it out. Grim will come for them when their time is up.
The Sims 4: Life & Death Expansion Pack expanded on this death. With this pack, Elder Sims can pass away peacefully in their sleep.
Overexertion
This The Sims 4 death type is more common in Elders. Elderly Sims are frail and don’t have the stamina that they used to. Things like exercise and WooHoo can cause them to become Dangerously Exhausted. If this Sim continues to exert themselves through strenuous activities, like WooHooing, they’ll die!
The Sims 4: Discover University expanded on this death. If a Sim overuses the Electromagnetic Research Archive Machine, they could also die of overexertion.
Cowplant
A staple The Sims death of the series, Sims can be eaten by their carnivorous Cowplant. In The Sims 4, your Sim can obtain a cowplant berry, plant it, and take good care of it until it grows into a fully grown Cowplant. It will stick its cake tongue out when it’s hungry. Use the Have a Sim Eat Cake interaction to get swallowed up by the Cowplant. The Cowplant will spit them up the first time, but if they get swallowed up again while their Uncomfortable moodlet is still active, they’ll be digested for good.
Meteor
This The Sims 4 death was added to the game in a free base game update. Along with new smaller telescopes came a new death type: death by meteor. If your Sims are stargazing at night and you receive a warning to get inside, you should listen and get your Sim indoors pronto. If you don’t, they’ll be struck and killed by a meteor!
The Sims 4 Deaths: Expansion Packs
City Living Expansion Pack
Pufferfish Poisoning
Hopefully, your Sim is a good cook, because eating poor-quality Pufferfish Nigiri can cause your Sim to die in The Sims 4! Sims can learn the Pufferfish Nigiri recipe by eating it from the Japanese Food Stall in San Myshuno. Sims in a bad mood or with low Cooking skill have a higher chance of making poor-quality Pufferfish Nigiri.
Seasons Expansion Pack
Overheating
Staying out in the hot sun without appropriate hot weather clothing or swimwear can cause your Sims to overheat and die. Sims may also start to feel too warm if the heat or fireplace is on during a heatwave.
Freezing
Likewise, staying outside in freezing cold without warm winter clothing will cause your Sim to freeze to death. Swimming in colder weather will make your Sim really cold, really fast!
Lightning
In The Sims 4, thunderstorms can be deadly too! If you choose to stay outside during a thunderstorm, you may be struck by lightning. This could be cool the first time, but you risk dying if you get struck again while still Dazed. Or you could become Supercharged and temporarily gain the ability to control lightning. So maybe it’s worth the risk?
Death Flower
If a Sim scents a floral arrangement with a death flower and gifts it to an Elder Sim in The Sims 4, the elder Sim will die by Death Flower! Gifting a death-flower-scented arrangement to younger Sims will just cause them to age up. Interestingly enough, gifting this item to a vampire turns them human.
Discover University Expansion Pack
Catastrophic Meltdown
This The Sims 4 death is unique to Servos. If a Servo goes too long without maintenance, they can break down and suffer a catastrophic meltdown. The poor servo will deteriorate into spare parts, leaving behind a futuristic-looking tombstone.
Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack
Flies
The classic death by flies makes a comeback from The Sims 2! Letting your trash overflow can attract flies to the smelly junk heap, but the flies are anything but harmless. They are a death waiting to happen. Sims risk being eaten alive by the buzzing pests if they try to get up close and personal with them.
Beetles
Sims who drink beetle juice three times in a row instantly become a ghost with no death notification or urn spawn. This doesn’t appear to be any particular death type and is more of an easter egg; it’s a reference to the movie Beetlejuice.
Snowy Escape Expansion Pack
Vending Machine
You can get all kinds of neat things out of vending machines in Mt. Komorebi but be careful; vending machines get items stuck in them a lot and your Sims can be crushed by the vending machine while trying to get the item unstuck. Having a vending machine fall on your Sim while they still have the Close Call moodlet from being previously crushed will cause a TheSims 4 death.
Rock Climbing Fall
Rock climbing is an exhilarating sport, but it’s also a potential death in The Sims 4. Especially near the summit of Mt. Komorebi. Inexperienced climbers have a high chance of falling to their deaths from The Croft Icefall on a mountain excursion.
Cottage Living Expansion Pack
Killer Rabbit
Who said bunnies were all cuddly and cute all the time? Haven’t you seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail? Well this Sims 4 death is a scene right out of that movie. These fluffy little critters may seem sweet at first, but get on their bad side, and they might just decide to turn vicious on you!
You can easily use this death on your Sim by using the Be Slain by a Vicious Killer Rabbit self-interaction with the following cheat enabled: testingcheats true. This will only kill the active Sim and can’t be used to kill other Sims.
Killer Chicken
Needless to say, you should be nice to your chickens if you want good quality eggs, but there’s another benefit to being friends with your chickens: not being murdered by them. No, seriously. Do enough mean socials with your chicken, and they will decide to go all velociraptor on you and peck you to death in The Sims 4!
High School Years Expansion Pack
Urban Myth
The High School Years expansion includes two new Sims 4 deaths, including Death by Urban Myth. At level 8 of the Mischief skill, Sims unlock the Summon Urban Myth Mischief interaction on other Sims. The first time, both Sims will just get scared and laugh it off, but do it again while your Sim is still scared, and that urban myth will come to life and kill your Sim! What a way to die in The Sims 4!
Stink Capsule
This Sims 4 death can happen to any teen who thinks it’s funny to prank the school lockers. After reaching level 3 of the Mischief skill, teens can click on lockers to plant a stink capsule in them. Every time you do this, there’s a chance the prank backfires and stinks your Sim instead. If you attempt to prank a locker again while your teen still has the Self-Stinked moodlet, the second backfire will be deadly!
Lovestruck Expansion Pack
Broken Heart
Dying from a broken heart is not just an expression; it can really happen in The Sims 4! Too many sad events back-to-back, like several deaths or breakups, can cause your Sim to die of a broken heart.
Additionally, Sims with the Very Sad moodlet should avoid eating the Sweetheart’s Box, or they may die of a broken heart.
Life & Death Expansion Pack
Murder of Crows
Sims who use the Provoke interaction too many times on the Pet Crow may end up being attacked and dying by a murder of crows!
Baleful Bog
Submerging in Ravenwood’s Baleful Bog lets your Sim have an Out of Body Experience, turning them temporarily into a Ghost. Doing this too many times in a row will cause your Sim to become a Ghost forever! Your Sim’s death will be automatically assigned a random death type based on the packs you own.
Enchanted by Nature Expansion Pack
Emotional Starvation
Since Fairies in The Sims 4 don’t have the traditional Hunger or Bladder Needs, they must focus on their Emotional Force instead. If this Need is depleted, they will die of Emotional Starvation.
Emotional Overload
Fairies thrive off of emotion and need it for survival in The Sims 4. Absorbing too much emotion, however, will cause your Fairy Sim to become emotionally unstable. Continuing to Absorb Emotion or Detect Emotion in this state can trigger the Hysterical, Enraged, or Mortified moodlet. These will quickly lead to Death by Anger, Death by Embarrassment, or Death by Laughter.
Royalty & Legacy Expansion Pack
Malfunctioning Cuckoo Clock
If a Cuckoo Clock has been sabotaged, there is a chance that using the Check Malfunctioning Cuckoo interaction could kill your Sim! Your Sim may be lucky enough to get a warning the first or second time, but it is probably best to proceed with caution.
The Sims 4 Deaths: Game Packs
Spa Day Game Pack
Steam
Saunas can be relaxing, but don’t overdo it! Staying in the sauna too long can be fatal. Your Sim may get too much steam if you leave them in there for too long. Talk about a Sims 4 death too hot to handle!
Vampires Game Pack
Sunlight
This Sims 4 death is unique to vampires. Leave a Vampire Sim out in the sun until their Vampiric Energy completely depletes, and you’ll have an extra crispy vampire tombstone on your hands. Vampires with the Full Sun Resistance ability are immune to this death type.
Jungle Adventure Game Pack
Poison
If you’re planning a trip to the wild jungles of Selvadorada, beware of the danger. Temple traps and creepy crawlies in the jungle can poison your Sims. Sometimes they can fight it off on their own, and sometimes they can’t. If your Sim isn’t able to overcome the poison on their own, they’ll need an antidote quick, or they will eventually succumb to this Sims 4 death after a few days.
Strangerville Game Pack
Consumed by the Mother
This death requires your Sims to play through the StrangerVille Mystery storyline. When you get far enough along in the story, you’ll come face-to-face with a terrifying plant monster known only as The Mother. She means business. If your Sim rushes into battle unprepared, she will gobble your Sim up, and that’s the end of your Sim. This is definitely a unique way to die in The Sims 4.
Realm of Magic Game Pack
Spellcaster Overload
This Sims 4 death is unique to Spellcasters. A Spellcaster needs to watch their magical charge; casting too much magic too quickly can cause them to become overcharged. If a Spellcaster continues to use magic while overcharged, they can literally explode. Boom! No more Spellcaster.
The Sims 4 Deaths: Stuff Packs
My First Pet Stuff Pack
Rabid Rodent Fever
Another old favorite returns in The Sims 4. If a rodent with a dirty cage bites your Sim, they can contract Rabid Rodent Fever. This Sims 4 death starts as a highly contagious illness that spreads to everyone in the household if you don’t act fast to quarantine the infected Sim. Neglecting to cure them with Rabid Rodent Fever Medicine will result in death after a few days.
Tiny Living Stuff Pack
Crushed by Murphy Bed
And yet another fan-favorite death type from The Sims universe returns. Murphy beds are great space savers, but uh… make sure you upgrade them as soon as possible. They have a bad habit of falling on your Sims and killing them. Like a lot.
Romantic Garden Stuff Pack
Whispering Wishing Well
Making a wish in the Whispering Wishing Well can be risky, but doing so in a bad mood can be deadly! Sims who make a wish while in a bad mood could be turned into a Ghost, with their type of death automatically applied based on the packs you own.
Out of all of The Sims 4 deaths, which one is your favorite? Are there any death types from The Sims universe you wish they’d bring back? Let us know in the comments below!

Our Review of The Sims 4 Everyday Clutter Kit
How could we not love a kit dedicated to clutter? Clutter with personality, too! It finally feels like kits are filling in the gaps in content that The Sims Team promised us they would when they were first introduced. We were really happy to see a Sims 4 kit that zeroed in on a single need and fulfilled it. The clutter in this kit is not just a bunch of basic objects you’d find in a show home, either. Each piece tells its own story about the kind of Sim who might own that item. It’s clear that a lot of thought was put into visual storytelling with this kit.
While the Everyday Clutter Sims 4 kit has a cohesive theme in terms of concept, it’s a bit all over the place visually. This is not a bad thing for this type of kit, though! In fact, we think it’s a good choice for a kit dedicated to clutter. The wildly different selection of items and varied colour palettes appeals to lots of different players. No matter what your Sim is into, there is something in this kit that they’ll want to decorate their home with. We cannot rave enough about the textures on many of the items, either. It feels like we could literally reach into our computer screen and touch these items. We get a vivid sense of what everything in this kit would feel like to touch just by looking at these detailed textures.
We seldom say this about Sims 4 kits, but Everyday Clutter is a must-have. No matter what you’re into, there’s something for you in this kit. We don’t even care that this build kit doesn’t come with wall or floor coverings; it wouldn’t make sense for this type of theme, anyway.

We could not be more in love with this Sims 4 kit if we tried! It was delightfully refreshing to finally see some actual colour after a series of uninspired “50 shades of beige” kits that were lacking in personality and ultimately? Completely forgettable.
Pastel Pop is fun, bright and yet soft at the same time, and full of personality. We love the variety of colours provided. It really is every colour of the pastel rainbow, but there are a few greys and blacks in the mix. We’re so happy with the balance of patterns and solids, too. I’m personally more of a pattern person but solids are important to have, too. This Sims 4 kit achieves that visual balance flawlessly while sticking to the same colour palette for easier mixing and matching. The whole kit has a very clear-cut, cohesive theme which we love to see.
Our personal favourite objects from this Sims 4 kit are the cookie shaped rug, the funky corkboard (which can display the postcard collection, by the way), and the adorable computer with patterned mats under the keyboard. Oh, and did we forget to mention this kit comes with two wall coverings and a shag carpet flooring? Build kits that come with wall and floor coverings are *chef’s kiss.* It’s like spaghetti and tomato sauce. It just goes together and one without the other is disappointing.
In our opinion, this kit is flawless. If we have any criticism at all, it’s that we would have liked to have seen at least one window curtain in all three wall heights. Still, we’re delighted by absolutely everything. It’s not often that we praise a Sims 4 kit so highly. We have tough standards for them to live up to, but when we say The Sims Team nailed it with Pastel Pop, we mean they nailed it!

The first Screens for Sims 5 have leaked after the latest EA Playtest. Spoilers included!
It was bound to happen one way or another.
We reported on the news of Project Rene / The Sims 5 being offered to a close group of EA Playtesters. This event took place at the end of October where select players were able to invite friends and play with the game’s Workshop.
Throughout the playtesting event it was mentioned that players will be able to get their hands on only a select portion of features. Including the game’s Work-In-Progress Workshop and tools for Apartment customization.
Things took a turn for the worse after the report that Sims 5 has been cracked. Possibly by players who didn’t read the fine print.
That’s how first Sims 5 Screens have leaked
After the hacking report there was no room for surprises anymore. It was inevitable that one day screenshots of The Sims 5 from unknown players would come to surface.
The screenshots that you are about to see of Project Rene / The Sims 5 are similar to previews shared during Behind The Sims Summit. Moreover, there are portions showcasing new elements and surroundings that Maxis is currently developing.
Before we break down the new screenshots it’s worth noting that everything you see is subject to change. Meaning that all the Gameplay, User Interface, Features and more are only work in progress. They don’t reflect the final version and release of what Project Rene / The Sims 5. Which is still years away.
Reddit user u/MeowDayThe13th has answered a few questions on Reddit following the release of these images.
This play test mostly was focusing on the new building and furniture features. It had 4 preset studio apartments for you to mess around in or an empty one for you to build in. There were no sims in this at all.
Stay tuned for all the latest news and updates on the development of Project Rene / The Sims 5.

Most Simmers think Sims 4 gnomes are only relevant during Harvestfest. This Sims 4 Gnome Guide will fill you in on all the gnome gossip outside the holiday season!
Most Simmers know about kicking or appeasing Gnomes during Harvestfest, but did you know about the Association of Gnomes are the Greatest, the Order of the Gnomes, or the Gnome High Council? There is a whole universe of Sims 4 gnome knowledge that can be learned about in this Sims 4 Gnome Guide!
Order of the Gnomes
According to Sims 4 Gnome lore, there is a sacred Order of the Gnomes. This organization does not “take too kindly” to gnome kicking. Sims are so scared of it that Sims will accuse other Sims of being part of the sacred Order of the Gnomes. Agatha Crumplebottom admits to knowing about the Order of the Gnomes and admits that it is real (although, you didn’t hear it from her!)
Association of Gnomes are The Greatest
Just as there is an Order of the Gnome, there’s an Association of Gnomes. Other than encouraging people to increase the number of gnomes in their homes, it is not quite clear what they do!
Gnome High Council
Another Sims 4 Gnome Gnome-related organization? Yes, this is the Gnome High Council and it defeated Stakra. All that is known about Stakra is that she had fanged teeth and reigned unchecked by mortal Sims. Her cruelty and destruction was so shocking that it had not been witnessed before or after her reign of terror. So the Gnome High Council vanquished her and placed her essence in a simple blue vase, incarcerated. As long as the vase remains on the top of the cabinet, the great galaxy is safe. Thankfully, the Sim’s universe has a great organization like the Gnome High Council!
Kicking Gnomes
Once again, we talk about the Gnome High Council. The Gnome High Council judges sims for the actions they did that have angered the gnomes. Many times, the crime is gnome-kicking.
A long time ago, Gnomes actually invented the soccer ball! This was done to prevent Sims from kicking them, but this doesn’t seem to be working. At the present time, Sims all over the Sim’s Universe play Soccer as it has become a Sim’s World pastime.
Important Sims 4 Gnomes History
Some Gnomes are originally from the Cave of Caerbannog. What people don’t realize at first is that if any Sim is taken in by the Gnome’s cuteness, and stares into it’s “childlike innocent eyes that can look into the Sim’s soul”, the Gnome has the ability to possibly own the Sim’s soul.
Garden Cart
There’s a Garden Cart in Henford on Bagley owned by Agnes and Agatha Crumplebottom. Agatha loves to gossip and asks newcomers of Henford-on-Bagley to dig up gossip about gnomes.
The reason Agnes and Agatha started the Garden Cart was due to Gnomes’ attraction to the flowers. The other choice would have been a match-making service, but the Gnomes made it an obvious choice.
About Sims 4 Gnomes
A gnome will show up if your sim takes bad quality photos. Basically, it is an overlay over the photo.
There are two Gnome Simmies
During Harvestfest, appease the gnomes that appear with an item or else feel their wrath!
Gnomes mend broken things overnight with Gnomes Lot Trait
Gnomes have Magical Grow Dust that they use on lawns to make them grow!
Gnomes send out messages
There are mail gnomes who get blamed for mail being delivered to the wrong Sim.
Gnomes mine crystals that have been charged by moonlight for over three months.
In the fantasy series, vampires, gnomes, and fairy princesses are all very popular!
Gnome Personalities
Gnomes are helpful, but just a little dangerous. Also, they’re flammable!
Adorably conniving plans when conspiring? Sounds like a Gnome! They are masters of it.
Lawn gnomes and lawn flamingos are always at odds with each other.
Gnomes are always around listening. Sims should find local gnomes and ask them for some gossip.
Garden Gnomes love hiking, fishing, and gardening.
Gnome History
(From the Cottage Living Gnome riding a chicken sculpture) “This sculpture commemorates the Legend of Onward, The Adventurous Gnome that says: There was once a Gnome that wanted adventure. Lived in a giant tree, with all his inventions. One day he befriended a Chicken that grew and grew with all the attention to a size that could not register, the Gnome paid no mind and continued to favor. One day, the Chicken spoke, offered a ride through the moors. The Gnome was stoked! Packed everything in one go! He jumped on it and began their journey, and across all the town they rode. Forever and never alone. Place this statue in your Lot and let your imagination wander…”
“The Tragedy of Garden Gnome the Wise” is a story that most Sims won’t talk about.
Sports
Gnomes invented the soccer ball to prevent Sims from kicking them. Due to it’s popularity, it has now become a favorite pastime around the Sim’s World.
GameSports released a line of soccer balls that became very popular. Due to this success, GameSports decided to start creating a Snowboard collection. Rumor has it that they might have given each of these Snowboards magical properties.
Notable Sims 4 Gnomes
Residents of this delightfully kitschy neighborhood take pride in their billboards and lawn gnomes. In reality, who wouldn’t love getting to say hello to Barry the Brontosaurus every morning?
The Sim formally known as Steve the Reagnomper, wanders the Sim world searching for “the unwanted, the broken, and the discarded gnomes of the lawn’verse”. Finally, he takes back to his home any gnomes that he finds, grinds them up, and allows them to “find a new recycled existence” as a household object or even potting soil.
“Not to be mistaken for an inhabitant of R’lyeh. This gnome has traveled far and wide to live in peace amongst the other gnomes in your garden. He will try to fit in, to make friends, guard your lot from evil… or rise up and rule over all Sims ensuing chaos and cast aside all concepts of normalcy.”
Lab Experiments
Working in the lab, an Unnamed Sim brought a gnome to work. Miraculously, the Gnome came alive and eventually more Gnomes joined them. The plants began to grow faster than ever before. The secret? Gnomes excel at caring for plants. Then, the Unnamed Sim wondered if it was possible to prove that Gnomes’ gardening powers were real and if they could, they would change the future of botany!
After the discovery and thorough research, the Unnamed Sim decided to write out a dissertation on the viability of harnessing magical power of gnomes to grow crops better. With the gnomes happy from fruits and pies, they continued their work. Surprisingly, after uploading the thesis online, the Unnamed Sim’s boss came in upset at the nature of the thesis and fired the Unnamed Sim.

Gorgeous Sims 4 Maxis Match hairstyles for Black Sims!
People from all walks of life make The Sims the vibrant, diverse community it is today, so why is there so little representation for people of colour in The Sims 4? Most of the game’s culturally diverse content is locked behind paid DLC… if it even exists at all. While The Sims Team has made considerable effort to be more inclusive in recent years, the gap in free cultural content is still far too wide. What’s worse? It’s even hard to find diverse CC for The Sims 4. Most of the custom content being made for The Sims 4 caters to white Sims. One talented creator aims to bridge this problematic gap with their Sims 4 CC hair designed specifically for Black Sims!
Sims 4 CC Hair by Sheabuttyr
Sheabuttyr’s tumblr is dedicated to adding more diverse Sims 4 CC hair textures and styles to the game and they are absolutely stunning. There is a broad range of styles and textures that look amazing on Black Sims. We downloaded a handful of sheabuttyr’s collection to check them out in our own game and we were so impressed with the in-game quality of every single hairstyle. Locs, braids, twists, afros, and smooth textures all look equally gorgeous and the Maxis Match style fits right into the game’s existing artistic aesthetic.
Here is just a small sampling of sheabuttyr’s catalogue that we tried out in our game!
Sheabuttyr’s website has a clean overview of all their custom Hairstyles separated by Length and Texture filters.
Sheabuttyr’s latest content release is called Foxxy Fros and it features a selection of gorgeous afro hairstyles for your Sims! We’re so excited to get our hands on these. Check out the preview images below!

The Domaine Du Clos set comes in two parts: one dedicated to build mode and one dedicated to buy mode. The build set features stunning brick detailing, ivy-laced pergolas, wood-framed doors and windows in a variety of shapes and sizes ranging across all wall heights, and even ceiling designs! The buy set dedicates itself to charming and cozy interior furnishings, complete with clutter decorative items, and sweeping curtains for all wall heights with modular curtain rods.

Building with the Domaine du Clos CC Set
To get the full scope of what is possible with this Sims 4 CC set, it’s not enough to just show off the items individually. They are to be used in builds, after all! So we spent some time building with the two sets ourselves. We wanted to create three spaces in three completely different styles using the Domaine du Clos CC set. Other packs used to accent the set and tie everything together.
We went for old fashioned French opulence for our living room. A quaint French country feel for our study, and a breezy Mediterranean style for our patio. The same items are used in multiple rooms. Changing the swatches turned the space into something completely new.

Our Review of the Domaine du Clos Sims 4 CC Set
In our opinion, the Domaine du Clos CC set for The Sims 4 is stunning. It’s a must-have collection for any avid builder. The wide variety of items available in so many different swatches allows for almost limitless creativity. We could have played around with different build styles for much longer than we did.
Our favourite aspect of this Sims 4 CC set is how customizable everything is. Windows have separate shutters. Every window comes in so many different shapes, styles, and heights. Curtains come in all wall heights and have modular curtain rods to fill in gaps for extra wide windows. The fireplace comes with a functional and decorative version; the decorative version can have stacks of books snapped into it. There are two pergola designs and separate ivy you can layer on top. You can choose whether you want an ivy-covered pergola or a plain one. All the architectural details add so much visual character to both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Everything in this Sims 4 custom content collection is 100% Maxis Match which is always something we look for. If we didn’t know this set was Sims 4 CC, we would not be able to tell the difference.
You can download both parts of the Domaine du Clos Build/Buy CC set by Pierisim for free on their Patreon!
