The Sims 4 Eco Lifestlye: Juice Fizzing Skill Guide

Presented by EA Game Changers

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle comes with two brand new skills for your Sims to learn. For this article, we will be taking a look at the Juice Fizzing Skill.

“Sims with this skill have a natural curiosity for the art of the fizz. Whether it’s a hobby or a side hustle, experimentation is key. These Sims can be found trying different ingridients and processes to hone their craft”

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestlye: Juice Fizzing Skill Guide

Using the Juice Fizzing Machine is easy. Simply have your Sim go over to the machine and Load Ingredients into the machine. You’ll be presented with a pop-up screen that will allow you to choose which ingredients you wish to add.

While you can’t mix and match different ingredients together, you can add multiples of the same ingredient which will give you more bottles once the process is completed.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestlye: Juice Fizzing Skill Guide

Once you have added the ingredients you want, simply start fizzing!

The fizzing process does cost but it will also vary on the ingredients you use and how many you use as well.

It will take a bit of time for the fizzing process to happen but you can keep track of it by watching the green bar rise on the Juice Fizzing machines electronic display.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestlye: Juice Fizzing Skill Guide

When the fizzing process is completed, the display will show a tick and the fizzing contain will show a blue light on the outside. You’ll then be able to collect your creation and also name your creation!

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestlye: Juice Fizzing Skill Guide

All of your creations will be placed into your Sims inventory. From there you can rename your product, throw it away, grab a bottle/jar, place in the world and add to favourites.

FizzEnthusiast Evaluation

To have your Sims Fizzy Products evaluated, simply head over to the mailbox, click on in and you should see an option to “Send Fizzy Product for Evaluation.” The best time for your Sim to send off a Fizzy Product is when they are feeling confident.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestlye: Juice Fizzing Skill Guide

From there you will be given an option to send off any of the Fizzy Products your Sim has created. You can only do this once per day.

It will take a day or two for them to reply to you but your Sim will get a little notification with the feedback from FizzEnthuisiasts. Your Sim may be lucky and be a natural Afizzinado or your Sim might need to work on their skills a little longer.

Skill Levels Overview

[table id=80 /]

Reward Trait: Afizzinado

For mastering the Juice Fizzing skill, your Sim will be awarded the Afizzinado reward trait.

“Afizzinados become focused while creating better products from the Juice Fizzer, as well as recovering from becoming Overbucha’d faster.”

The Juice Fizzing Skill is another great addition to The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle and is a great way for your Sims to earn a few extra Simoleons!

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Fabrication Skill Guide

Presented by EA Game Changers

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle comes with two brand new skills for your Sims to learn. For this article, we will be taking a look at the Fabrication Skill.

“Why buy brand name when you can make it yourself? Recycle old stuff that would be thrown out otherwise use the Bits and Pieces to make something all your own!”

Fabrication Skill is built by using the fabricator and by creating candles at the candle making table. Increasing this skill unlocks new recipes to explore.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Fabrication Skill Guide

Fabrication Station

When you first start using the Fabricator, you will only be able to craft a select few objects. The more your level increases, the more objects you will be able to Fabricate.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Fabrication Skill Guide

If your Sim is part of the Civil Designer Career, there is also the opportunity to unlock more recipes to fabricate including a number of foods recipies.

Note: Not all recipes are unlocked by levelling up the Fabrication Skill. You may also have Sims give you recipes for objects to craft from time to time as well.  Sims with the Master Crafter trait can also inspire Fabrication recipes in other Sims.

For every crafting recipe, you will notice that it costs a number of items to draft it. These are called Bucks or more specifically, Bits and Pieces.

But how do you obtain Bits and Pieces? Well, it’s easy!

Simply recycle things that are found in dumpsters around the world or items from your inventory and place them into the Guntdach Home Recycler (these can be found at Community Spaces or bought and placed on your Sims lot) and you will earn Bits and Pieces from the objects you recycle.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Fabrication Skill Guide

To find out how many Bits and Pieces your Sim has, simply hover over your Household funds and it will show you.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Fabrication Skill Guide

You will also notice that some Fabricated objects (and candles) will be able to be crafted in different colours. You can choose the colour you want by opening the drop-down menu and choosing the colour you want.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Fabrication Skill Guide

To purchase Dyes, simply click on the fabricator, purchase dyes and then select the ones you require. You can also purchase dyes from the computer too.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Fabrication Skill Guide

Candle Making Table

The candle making table works in a similar way to the fabricator in which it allows you to craft different candles for your Sims to place around their home or even gift them to other Sims. As your Sim levels up their Fabrication skill, more varieties of candles will unlock for you to craft.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Fabrication Skill Guide

Similarly to the Fabrication Table, each candle will cost a mixture of Bits and Pieces as well as a Wax Block. You can also use different colour dyes to make create specific coloured candles. As your skill level increases, you will also be able to use different flowers to create emotional aura candles.

To purchase a Wax Block,  you do this the same way you purchase dyes. Just click on the candle making table, purchase ingredients and select all of the ones that you require.

Don’t forget that Children can also create certain candles too!

Skill Levels Overview

[table id=79 /]

The Fabrication Skill is a great addition to The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle and there are plenty of ways you can utilise the objects you craft from both the Fabricator and Candle Making Table.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Freelance Crafter Career Overview

Presented by EA Game Changers

It’s been just over a year since we first saw the introduction of Freelance Careers added to The Sims 4. We first started off with the Writer, Programmer and Digital Artist trades before adding the fourth trade back in August last year which was the Fashion Photographer trade. With The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle, a fifth trade has now been added in the form of the Crafter trade.

The Crafter trade follows the same format as the other Freelance trades and your Sim can join a Freelance Career by using your Sims phone or a computer.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Freelance Crafter Career Overview

Once confirming you want your Sim to be a Freelancer you will then be presented with another pop-up box asking you which agency you would like your Sim to be a part of.

As a Freelance Crafter, you will be under the SIMply Crafted Agency.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Freelance Crafter Career Overview

But how do you get work as a Freelancer?

If you have played with one of the other Freelance trades or even as an actor in The Sims 4 Get Famous, it is exactly the same way. If not you simply just have to check for Gigs. This can be done by going to the Career panel and selecting the clipboard or again via the work panel on your Sims cell phone.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Freelance Crafter Career Overview

Likewise with each of the Freelancer Trades, the kinds and types of Gigs your Sim has available to them all depends on their skill level. This is displayed at the bottom of each Gig. Those that are highlighted are currently available to your Sim. Those that are greyed out are currently unavailable to your Sim as they do not have a high enough skill level that is needed for that gig. The higher the required skill the higher the payout will be for that Gig.

Types of Gigs

SIMply Crafted will offer your Sim a variety of hand-crafted Gigs. Paywise, Gigs can range from a hundred Simoleons to a few thousand Simoleons. New Gigs are added at 9 am every Sim day so there is always plenty to choose from.

Here are a few examples of some of the Gigs your Sims can choose as a Freelance Crafter.

[table id=81 /]

Completing Gigs & Tasks

Once you have selected a Gig, all the information that you need will be under the Career panel of the user interface. It will tell you when the Gig is due by as well as specific tasks your Sim needs to carry out in order to complete the Gig. Your Sims is usually given around four to five days to complete a gig.

If you get stuck on how to complete a task you can hover over the tasks in the career panel and it will let you know what you need to do.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Freelance Crafter Career Overview

Remember, your Sim does not need to wait until the due day/time to hand it in. Keep in mind that a client could reject your Sims work or even want you to make edits to the work your Sim has done. If this happens simply start the task(s) again and then hand in the Gig again.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Freelance Crafter Career Overview

Don’t worry if your Sims work gets rejected. Simply double-check the task(s) and try again.

However, if your Sim fails to complete a Gig on time not only can it have an effect on your Sims overall performance but will also leave your Sim with an angry client and of course they won’t have been paid.

On the other hand, if your Sim gets ahead, completes the Gig early and their work is of a high standard, there is a chance that they may get a small bonus alongside their payment for the Gig.

There are no restrictions as to how often your Sim has to pick up Gigs. It really is up to you when and how often they work. There will always be Gigs available for your Sims to choose from.

Career Rewards

Of course, no career within The Sims would be complete without a few new Career Rewards!

The Mark Of The Maker Plaque ($0) – Unlocks by maxing out the performance meter in the Freelance Career as a Freelance Crafter for the fourth time.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Freelance Crafter Career Overview

As well as The Mark of The Maker Plaque, your Sims can also receive increased pay and potentially new clothes when they max out the performance bar.

This new addition to the Freelance Career is definitely a welcomed addition to what we already have. There really is so much you can do and explore as a Freelance Crafter and that isn’t just limited to the career but throughout the game overall. Not only that, but the new career also adds even more variety and flexibility to your Sims everyday lives without having to leave their house.

Don’t forget you can read all about becoming a Freelance Writer, Programmer or Digital Artist here and the Freelance Fashion Photographer here.

Let us know what you think of the new Freelance Crafter Career and even what trades you would love to see hopefully added to the career in the future.

Happy The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle release day!

The Sims team has just released a brand new blog post to celebrate today’s launch. You can check out the post in full below.

via EA.com

It’s move-in day in Evergreen Harbor—The Sims™ 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack is now available on PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation4! Your Sim’s impact on their world is visible and tangible. You have the influence and power to really make a difference. So, how will you play to change?

Even the smallest choices can have a huge impact. If and how you choose to get involved matters, but it’s not just about power sources or Neighborhood Action Plans. It’s about how you engage with other Sims. It’s about how you come together to accomplish something. In your Sims community, you decide what role to take on—the eco-minded activist, the creative maker, the mischievous Sim playing in the trash… you can be whoever you want and make the world to match. You just might need a little help to get there. So, how will you play to change? Find out before you start playing when you take our eco lifestyle quiz!

eco lifestyle blog post

That’s where your neighbors come in. Whether they’re complaining about the state of the neighborhood, offering you some of their spare materials, or just stopping by to help take out the trash, you’re less alone in this than you think. Share knowledge, projects, and laughs with the Sims around you. (And if they annoy you, well, feel free to vote for Roughhousing Encouraged at the voting board so you can start a fight whenever you want.)

Give yourself permission to inspire others and make changes, in and out of the game. And as you consider your options in The Sims, think about what you yourself can do for your world, too—the real one. Why limit your impact to Evergreen Harbor or Willow Creek?

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Lot Traits Overview

Presented by EA Game Changers

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle adds a total of five new lot traits to the game, as well as a complete overhaul of the base game Off-the-Grid lot trait that was added in the free June 2019 game update. As you might imagine, the new lot traits add more eco-friendly options to your Sims’ homes.

Eco Lot

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Lot Traits Overview

This lot moves toward eco-friendliness faster than others.

Geothermal

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Lot Traits Overview

Natural heating lowers utility bills by generating power, and keeps any pools warm.

Natural Well

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Lot Traits Overview

Spring water runs under this lot, reducing utility bills and offering fresh, clean water from the tap.

Reduce and Recycle

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Lot Traits Overview

This lot generates Compostable and Recyclable Trash, and outdoor cans are no longer bottomless. Actively managing the trash output is a must!

Landfill Lot

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Lot Traits Overview

This place is a dump! Trash accumulates on this lot.

This lot trait is not available for Residential, Tiny Home Residential, University Housing, or Restaurant lots.

Off-the-Grid

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Lot Traits Overview

This lot is not connected to the utility grid, and most objects that use Power and Water will not function as expected. Can your Sims survive without the comforts of plumbing and electricity? Natural living does have its advantages—such as no utility bills!

Please note that the Off-the-Grid lot trait does NOT come with Eco Lifestyle. It is a base game lot trait that was added with the free June 2019 game update; however, Eco Lifestyle has such a heavy influence on this trait that we felt it was worth including in this article.

Which lot trait are you most excited to play with? Let us know in the comments or come chat with us on social media!

From recycling to crafting to living green and even an outright rejection of capitalism, there is a trait to suit every type of environmentally and socially aware Sim.

CAS Traits

The following traits are readily available in CAS when making a new Sim. Players can apply up to three of these traits to any one Sim.

Maker

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: All New Traits

These Sims become happy when making things. They become sad when it’s been too long since completing a project on a Fabricator, Candlemaking Station, Juice Fizzer, or Woodworking Table. They do not receive negative effects from crafting or repair failures.

Freegan

“Sandwiched between rolling hills of Evergreen Forest on one side and the waters of the Willupette Sound on the other, Evergreen Harbor used to be the industrial hub of the region. However, as the world changed around it, the region has struggled to keep up. The only question is: what kind of future will it be?”
