Replay: The Sims Team’s First Maxis Monthly Livestream

UPDATE #2: You can now catch the replay on YouTube as well!

UPDATE: The stream has now ended! You can catch the Twitch replay down below. We’re also preparing a YouTube replay for those who cannot watch content on Twitch!

The Sims Team will be doing a very special livestream on October 2nd, 2018 at 8PM CET / 7PM BT / 11AM PDT where they’ll be talking with the producers and tease some upcoming content for The Sims 4 AND The Sims Mobile as well as feature The Sims FreePlay during the stream.

Considering that Quarterly Teasers are no longer active and have been replaced with Maxis Monthly this livestream is something you definitely don’t want to miss out as it could tease content for the next few months, just like Quarterly Teasers did.

We know that time zones are very tricky and as this livestream is important we’ve added a countdown down below that counts exactly to the moment when The Sims Team goes live with Maxis Monthly.

We’re also going to report on every important detail that’s shown, mentioned and/or teased during the stream so stay tuned on our website!

The Sims 4 for Consoles is getting Mouse + Keyboard Support

3

People have been asking for a while if The Sims 4 for Consoles is capable of supporting a mouse and a keyboard for playing the game instead of using Xbox One’s / PS4’s controllers. A keyboard and a mouse would allow console simmers to have an exact PC experience considering that The Sims 4 on Console already has a cursor that’s used for navigation and selection.

With Microsoft’s announcement that Xbox One will be receiving a Keyboard + Mouse support for their console SimGuruLegacy went on Twitter to confirm that The Sims Team is working on bringing support for Keyboard + Mouse for both PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

Although this feature is currently in development SimGuruLegacy stated that it’s not coming with The Sims 4 Console’s next update.

Behind The Scenes at The Sims 4’s Upcoming Content…Through Simlish

6

Krizia Bajos, one of the voice actors actively working on The Sims 4 series has archived a huge series of Instagram Stories on her profile. Over the last 2 months Krizia and Scott Whyte were actively recording new vocals for The Sims 4’s upcoming content that’s yet to be announced and released.

In the video above you can see more than 4 minutes of snippets and even some simlish teasers featured in yet to be released content for The Sims 4. There’s a snippet featuring a whole spreadsheet of Simlish words:

There’s also an interesting scene where you can see a small glipse of a new animation being shown on the screen:

Behind The Scenes at The Sims 4’s Upcoming Content…Through Simlish

It’s hard to tell what the new content is all about considering that Simlish is a made up language that basically has an unlimited amount of words that can be added to its vocabulary. Still, it’s really interesting to see the first teasers of what’s to come to The Sims 4!

Upcoming Content for The Sims 4 is getting a CNN Special about Simlish Voice Acting

0

UPDATE: Through a series of Instagram Stories by Krizia Bajos we can now confirm that the special has been recorded for CNN’s Great Big Story.

Scott Whyte, one of the several voice actors working for The Sims 4 has posted a picture on his Instagram account with a very interesting caption. In the picture below he can be seen with another voice actor Krizia Bajos who’s also been a voice actor for the game since its initial launch.

In his caption he stated that Krizia and himself are being filmed by a CNN for an upcoming special on giving voice overs for The Sims 4. He also stated that, even though he’s been working on the game for 5 years he’s still just getting warmed up.

As a cherry on top he released a statement that he cannot wait for The Sims 4’s upcoming game patch to drop.

What’s it like working on #sims4 with @kritzer while being filmed by @cnn crew for a special on voicing this amazing game??? Well, kinda exactly like this!!!! 5 years on this game and we’re just getting warmed up, can’t wait for this new game patch to drop!!!! #sims #ea#playwithlife #itsinthegame #voiceactor#dayjob #ilovemyjob people have been writing asking, well now finally you’ll see a bit of the behind the scenes!

In case you don’t know SimGuruKate issued a statement that she’ll be teasing the upcoming free update for The Sims 4 during the Maxis Monthly livestream on October 2nd, which we can expect to be released sometime in October.

The news drought for The Sims 4 seems to finally be coming to an end. With The Sims 4 getting its own televised special for CNN the upcoming content for The Sims 4 must be huge.

Make sure you stay tuned to Sims Community as we’ll be covering all the latest news and information!

The Community shares their hopes for The Sims 4’s Upcoming Update

We’re finally living in an era when we get to know that something fun and free is coming to The Sims 4 Base Game. SimGuruKate’s latest announcement that October’s going to bring fun free stuff to The Sims 4 left plenty of room for speculation on what the next update could be.

Considering that The Sims 4 is great but still has plenty of room for improvement we asked the community on Twitter about what they’re hoping that The Sims 4’s next update will bring. Simmers had a lot to say about what they want to see in The Sims 4 added for free, but considering that there’s been plenty of replies asking for content that’s been treated as “premium” in the past (Witches, Mermaids, Farming etc) we’ve sorted through the replies asking for more simple stuff that the Base Game is currently missing. Here’s what they said:

Are you excited to find out what the upcoming update for The Sims 4 is all about? Stay tuned on our website as The Sims Team will be releasing a teaser about it during their livestream on October 2nd!

The Sims Team announces their first ever Maxis Monthly Livestream

0

SimGuruKate has just confirmed The Sims Team’s first ever Maxis Monthly Livestream. So, what can you expect from this Livestream? Here’s a rundown that SimGuruKate provided a few weeks ago:

We will be launching a new monthly series called Maxis Monthly. Each month, on a set day/time, you’ll be able to tune in for an hour “talk show” hosted by me! During this hour we will recap what happened in The Sims over the previous month, host interviews with members of the Dev. Team (learn a little more about their job and what they do), showcase cool community creations, and even give a peak at what will be coming in the next month.

In her latest tweet Kate confirmed that the Maxis Monthly livestream will last for 30 minutes instead of an hour. However, the stream will contain valuable information about the upcoming content for The Sims 4. Here’s what she said:

The Sims 3 “Looks Really Bad” according to its own Lead Producer

62

You don’t often see producers being completely honest about the games they’ve worked on, let alone confess that what they were working on looks bad.

Well, that changed with one simple tweet by Grant Rodiek, a producer currently working on The Sims 4. He replied to a question on Twitter which asked Grant about his personal preference between “realism” which was approached with The Sims 3 or “cartoony” which was introduced with The Sims 4. Without hesitation Grant tweeted out the fact that The Sims 3 “looks really bad” and that The Sims 4 looks so much better.

In case you don’t know Grant Rodiek worked on The Sims 3 since it’s first days of production back in 2005. He also worked on several Expansion Packs which were released for The Sims 3.

He additionally confirmed that he is indeed dragging The Sims 3’s visuals and that The Sims Team has done a much better job for The Sims 4.

The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 both have a completely different approach when it comes to visual identity and art style and we definitely don’t want to open up an argument on which game wins at which aspect and feature. Still, it’s pretty interesting to see a confession like this about the game we’ve (probably) all played for so long…

NEW CONTENT COMING! Free Update for The Sims 4 in October; New Paid Content This Year

7

SimGuruKate has just released a statement on Twitter saying that The Sims Team won’t be having any patches / updates coming in September 2018.  However, she made a very interesting statement where she pointed out two things:

First of all, she confirmed that there’s going to be a new content update coming in October. Although she hasn’t said what it is she did tease that it’s going to be “Fun Free Stuff”.

Second, she included a statement that there’s going to be some other new content coming this year. SimGuruKate didn’t mention what it is but we can assume that it’s going to be a new Expansion, Game or a Stuff Pack.

We can tease and speculate what this is all about but one thing’s for certain: there’s going to be a whole free new content update for The Sims 4 in just a few more weeks and new paid content this year!

Simmers, start your engines, and may the best speculation about the upcoming content win!
