The Sims 4’s latest update lets you unlock over 1000 new environmental objects in Build Mode! These include items that you would normally find scattered all across the worlds we have so far in the game such as Cars, Trees, Decor and even some visual effects!
To find the new environmental objects you have to do the following:
- Open up the cheat console using CTRL + Shift + C on your keyboard
- Enter the testingcheats true cheat
- Open up Build Mode and enter the following cheat:
- bb.showliveeditobjects
- Hit the search button without any terms to display all items. Environmental objects can be found after you finish scrolling through the normal catalog of items.
(Alternative) If you want to jump straight to the debug section go to the search bar, write up DEBUG and select any option of your choice to find the full catalog of environmental objects
You’ll be presented with a full catalog of environmental objects. You can also use pack filters to find environmental objects from certain packs that you want!
Unlike what we’ve seen in the Maxis Monthly livestream, the environmental objects are not tagged with a special globe icon on the top right corner. Hopefully The Sims Team adds better categorization of the environmental objects in the next update for The Sims 4!

I’m the only one that can’t access those objects? I’m doing everything right but i can only unlock the “showhiddenobjects” objects

No, unforunately its not just you. I am having these issues as well. Despite all what I’ve done, I can’t access them. Seems like others are having this issue. Also the ‘globe’ icon that was shown the preview by the Maxis team isn’t there as well. So this is turning out to be a waste of an update if people can’t use it. Plus, not too many people are fond of the new rebranding and many have mentioned its a literal eyesore. It doesn’t bother me that much.

I love you I’ve been trying to get these things on console since the darn live objects cheat was released!!!!! Thank you so much!!!

Though I’m sad that I don’t see all the outdoor decorations or the vehicles 🙁

It works. You just have to literally type **DEBUG** in the search field. 🙂

Apparently it does work, but there is an issue with it refreshing. So you have to do an empty text search for them to finally load. It was posted up by simgurunick on twitter about the bug. Then after they load you can find them by searching **DEBUG**

Doesn’t work for me. I’ve been trying for a long time. Kind of annoyed. I have work to do.

I could make it work. so first type in bb.showhiddenobjects, then directly after bb.showliveeditobjects, and then type in “debug” in the search bar and click enter. Live edit objects and old debug items will be mixed. There’s no way to sort the live edit objects, either through gamepack or menu, so you’ll have to scroll for them. The globe icon isn’t working, but the live edit rocks are quite easy to find as there are a lot of them. Hopefully that helps a bit 🙂

Even after this, it still doesn’t work for me. I hope they fix this soon because I was really excited and was really let down 🙁
Reply to Kelsey
You need to click the first one at the top that says debug in the search menu then you will get it.
Reply to Tomosuke
This still doesn’t load the environmental items or vehicles. It does show more than what typically pops up, but no waterfalls, signs, cars, gates nothing like that.

But we need all the packs?? Because I just have the basic game
Reply to リリー
No, you unlock debug stuff from the packs you own 🙂

Does this work for Console? When I go into the cheat mode I cant access build mode once the screen is up. I have to put in the cheats then exit it to go into build mode.
I own all the packs, all the other showhiddenobjects and similar cheats always work for me, I have followed all the instructions, and I still can’t see the new items… 🙁
So the new environmental stuff will show even if you don’t have the new Island living pack, or any of the packs yet?
Reply to Sarah
Nope, it’s only unlocking the things used from packs you own. It isn’t adding new things, it’s unlocking world building items that are already in the worlds.
Does work ur just stupid retard

“You need to click the first one at the top that says debug in the search menu then you will get it.” This worked for me. Ty!
I tried it and it didnt work, the article is wrong, you need BB.SHOWHIDDENOBJECTS and BB.SHOWLIVEEDITOBJECTS then you type in debug in the search bar and it will work 🙂
is there a way to undo it? i was looking for specific things (mainly trees and rocks) and they don’t seem to be in the bunch from bb.showliveeditobjects and i’d like to get rid of that stuff now as it’s really cluttering up my list of objects. lol
How do you get the debug Items on Xbox?
Try typing unknown instead debug 😀 i had debbuged stuff in other house tryed to clone them… no luck.. and then i put something in inventory and below objects was typed unknown. So i typed unknown instead of debug and it found everything i searched. Hope it will work for someone 😀
