The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu Game Pack released about a month ago and the community reception around the pack was…mixed to say the least.
Fast forward to today and the Game Pack has been slashed to 50% off during Origin’s special Halloween Sale where you can also save big on other Sims 4 packs. This is not common, especially for Game Packs that get released just a month after to get their price cut in half. Still, it’s a decent deal for those who’d been wanting to get the pack. Emphasis on the word “wanting”.
During the last few hours people have started reporting Origin constantly suggesting The Sims 4 Star Wars Game Pack whenever you choose to purchase a pack of your choice. Sure, okay, no big deal. It’s kinda okay for Origin to recommend their latest Sims Pack even though they’re unrelated at all. Seriously, I’ve tried this with multiple packs and it always suggests the Star Wars pack – even making it seem like Nifty Knitting and Star Wars is the perfect theme combination!
However, that’s not all. Twitter user @ARIAVENTIS reports about a weird message that you get when trying to purchase The Sims 4 My First Pet Stuff. Clicking the Buy now button will immediately give you the “Whoops, you’re missing something” message, saying that you *need* The Sims 4 Star Wars Journey to Batuu Game Pack in order to access all content.
The other message is probably just a very strange glitch from Origin’s side considering that deciding to purchase any pack will automatically suggest you to get the Star Wars Game Pack as well.
Weird.

EA needs to pay me first just to consider thinking about buying this pack
How embarrassing and desperate. They tried so hard for this cash grab and it failed so badly. They didn’t even give the resources for the team to make it appealing to actual Star Wars fans. This should’ve been a spin off. They might have made more money doing that and gave more resources to the team to improve the pack so it didn’t look so bland. At this point I doubt anyone else will knowingly buy it even if it was on 80% off just to complete their collection. EA is better off taking it as a lost, refund people and make it a free pack. I feel this pack did worse than my first pet which was the “DLC for a DLC”.
Also I just have to say I just don’t like origin at all to begin with and one of my biggest pet peeves is their constant updates when I don’t use it other than to download packs or launch the game offline during patch days.
I own the star wars pack because I’m a collector and need to have them all, but I can officially state that it is the only sims 4 pack that I have ever been 100% disappointed with. It’s the only pack that I cannot reccomend to anyone. Even Star Wars fans.
I feel your regret because I also bought it, my reasoning was I want any chance to add to this plain boring game but boy was it a mistake!!!!! I regret it so much. I tried to play it and it was SO BAD. it wasnt even a sims game anymore. Played it once and will never play it again 🙁 oh the regret!
A glitch, sure.
Right why would a “glitch” say its required to buy it in order for you to access another dlc? Doesn’t make sense..
i bouht this when it came out and believe me you DONT want journey to scrap it`s worse
Honestly it’s disgusting how much they have want you to buy this awful pack. I’m not going to buy it anytime soon. I’ll have to have at least a million before I even consider buying this pack.
just play sims 3
Or the sims 2! Just as good tbh. Even sims 1 is better.
Even for 50% off, the pack still isn’t worth it.
I didnt pay for mine so I cant say its worth it to purchase it, but I have to admit I love the pack and enjoyed playing it quite a lot. I havent played in some time though so I cant say whether or not theres much gameplay beyond the first few days exploring it. I havent revisited it yet so my opinion could change!
