Make almost any object in the game bigger or smaller without any mods!

If you've ever wished you could make an object bigger or smaller while building, you'll be happy to know that The Sims 4 resize objects ability exists in the game! The best part? It requires no mods, just one simple cheat that both PC and console players can use! We'll teach you how to scale objects on both PC and console!
Table of Contents
The Sims 4 Resize Objects: PC and Mac
If you're a PC or Mac player, you can scale objects with just one cheat and a few keyboard shortcuts.
First, press CTRL+SHIFT+C to open up the cheat console. Then type in the cheat bb.moveobjects on and hit Enter to activate the cheat.

Once moveobjects on (commonly referred to as MOO) is enabled, you'll be able to scale objects! Make sure you're in Build/Buy and select the object you want to resize. With the object selected, just use the square bracket keys on your keyboard to make the object larger or smaller. The [ key makes the object smaller. The ] key makes the object larger.
If you're on a Mac and having trouble resizing objects using the square bracket keys, try pressing Command, Alt, or Shift at the same time. Some Mac users report that just the square bracket keys don't work for them; however, different Mac users report different keys that need to be pressed at the same time. So see if Command, Alt, or Shift works for you when using the square bracket keys to resize objects.
Resize Objects: PS4 and PS5
Making objects bigger or smaller on PS4 and PS5 is also very easy! You will need to press all four back buttons on your controller at the same time to bring up the cheat console, then type in bb.moveobjects on and hit X to confirm the cheat. Don't worry about disabling your trophies! The MOO cheat doesn't require you to enable testingcheats to use, so your trophies are safe!
Once MOO is activated, you can make almost any object bigger or smaller. Make sure you're in Build/Buy and select the object you want to scale. Then press L2+R2 at the same time and use the left and right directional buttons to scale the object up or down. The left directional button makes the object smaller. The right directional button makes the object larger.
Resize Objects: Xbox One and Xbox Series X
You can scale objects on Xbox One and Xbox Series X, too! You will need to press all four back triggers on your controller at the same time to bring up the cheat console, then type in bb.moveobjects on and hit A to confirm the cheat. Don't worry about disabling your achievements! The MOO cheat doesn't require you to enable testingcheats to use, so your achievements are safe! Once MOO is activated, you can make almost any object bigger or smaller. Make sure you're in Build/Buy and select the object you want to scale. Then press both back triggers at the same time and use the left and right directional buttons to scale the object up or down. The left directional button makes the object smaller. The right directional button makes the object larger.
How to Make the Most of Resizing Objects!

Now that you know how to scale objects, you might be wondering why you need to make an object larger or smaller in the first place! Of course, there are extreme examples. Theoretically, you could make the tiniest teddy bear ever and hide it somewhere in a build just for fun. You could also make a really massive teddy bear that takes up a whole lot just for the amusement of it, but there are definitely more practical uses for this cheat, too.

For example, if you didn't feel like using the bb.showhiddenobjects and bb.showliveeditobjects cheats to find full-size cars to put in the garage or driveway, you could just grab a toy car from the kids' décor section and size it up to a full-size vehicle! You'll sacrifice some texture quality this way; the larger you make an object, the more stretched its texture becomes, but it's definitely an option!

On the other hand, you could scale objects down to fit nicely as a decorative accent in a home. The more packs you own, the more options you'll have when it comes to scaling objects in order to expand your decorating skills. For example, you can scale down the My Wedding Stories canopy to fit perfectly above an infant crib for a delicate and sweet touch to a nursery.
There are many more ways to implement the scale objects cheat into your builds so get creative with it and experiment with what you can achieve!

do you have an US keyboard or a EU/scandinavian?
I found that a few of my hot keys were slightly different due to me having a scandinavian keyboard. Then all I had to do was change the keyboard language on my computer to ‘stadard english’ and then figure it out where the needed keys were using word or pages :>
If you have an US one then maybe you have to look at your general/game settings??
I hope that was of some help ^^”

How do you do it on mac?
I don’t know how to do it on mac, it doesn’t work for me… But trying it i’ve found another cheat! I don’t know do you have to write “testingcheats true” because playing I have already wrotten it.. But you can make SHIFT + ( for up and SHIFT + ) for down. Try it ! For me it worked. There was a sofa flying in the air :D.
Reply to Gabi
Or maybe you need to write “bb.movingobjects” … I’ve written this too :> I’m sorry I don’t know which one you may need to write, but I found this “flying cheat” 5 minutes ago… And the “testingcheats true” and “bb.movingobjects” today in the morning 🙂

I cannot get this to work. Sims4. Whenever I hit shift and + it zooms out or in…
Reply to Jodie Rivet
Shift and the square brackets at the same time
so shift and { [ is smaller
Shift and ] } is larger
if you have an european keyboard try “SHIFT + »” to scale up and “SHIFT+?” to scale down
Reply to Hpithelpd
It dose it with “SHIFT” + “ß” for smaller and “SHIFT” + ‘ for me
(Germany)
Reply to Skyler
Shift + ß zooms in very near for me i use *`‚ * to make it smaller but idk how to make it bigger again *+* doesnt work for me tho

Finally omg
I finally watched a video on this. I’m sure I’m late to answering questions, but I’ll put the answer out there anyway. When they say “Shift + [” or “Shift + ]” you aren’t pressing the “+” key! Just hit shift AND [ or ].

shift*] or/and shift*[
I have a laptop and when I hit Shift + all it does is zoom. When I played Sims 3 on desktop I remember it working. How can I make it work on my laptop?
Reply to Joanna
It’s shift[ for smaller, shift] for larger. It’s the brackets you need, not the + sign
Thank you! <3
It works you have to add the [, ]s at the end of the + or –
This doesn’t work
For all confused It’s not shift +
it’s Shift plus ] or [
shift ] or shift [
Clicking + or – zooms in and out
For German users: it’s Shift + ü to decrease objects!
Size up= shift + )
Suze down= shift + [
For windows
Hope i helped
Reply to Mcelens
no need to use the shift key for me. 😉

What about on console?
For me on my Norwegian keyboard it’s Å for smaller and ^ for larger.
It worked, thanks for this.

If you use TR Q keyboard and couldn’t figure out how to do it; You only have to press Ctrl and Ü or Ctrl and Ğ at the same time. First one is for making things bigger and the other one is for making things smaller. Take care x
