The release of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream was like a wish come true. But that wouldn’t be the end of Tomodachi Life wishes because, as it turns out, wishes are a huge mechanic of the game itself. Except instead of a wishing well, you’re dealing with a wishing fountain. And instead of throwing coins into the fountain, you’re filling it with your Miis’ happiness. Literally.
As you take care of your Miis’ needs and make them happy, you earn warm fuzzies that fill up the Wishing Fountain. When you earn enough warm fuzzies to fill up the fountain, your island levels up, earning you a wish, which you can spend in a couple of different ways. Below you can learn about all of the Tomodachi Life wishes, how you get them, and what they do.
Table of Contents
Tomodachi Life Wishes: The Basics
You can spend wishes in six different categories: Level up, T&C Reno home supply, Quik Build amenities, Island Builder, Palette House workshop, and Travel tickets.

The categories unlock as you progress through the game, and it doesn’t take very long to unlock all of the categories. Not all of the items in each category are immediately available: some of them are unlocked as you level up.
How you choose to spend your wishes is entirely up to you. You don’t have to unlock every wish in a category before moving to the next category. You can pick and choose depending on what you want.

Level Up Wishes
Level up Tomodachi Life wishes are the only category of wish available to you upon unlocking the Wishing fountain, and refers to things you can give to Miis when they level up individually. There are two kinds of Level up wishes: goods and little quirks.

Goods are basically toys or items that your Miis can play with. It’s almost like giving them their own hobby. Some goods are already available to Miis when they first level. However, there are 11 goods to be unlocked through wishes, six of which are available upon unlocking the Wishing Fountain. The remaining five have to be unlocked by leveling up your island.
By the way, if multiple Miis have the same good, they may use the goods together. For example, Miis with swords can have a sword fight! So it’s worth giving multiple Miis the same goods.

Then there are the little quirks, which are basically personality traits or behaviors you can give to your Miis to make them more distinct. There are 11 sets of little quirks, two of which — the Walking styles (Bold) and Walking styles (Reserved) — are available upon unlocking the wishing fountain.
| Quirk Set Name | Includes* | Level Unlocked |
| Walking styles (Bold) | - walks with a swagger - walks like a rodeo rider - walks with a rhythm - walks like a model - walks like a robot - Walks by bounding | 1 |
| Walking styles (Reserved) | - walks cutely - walks leaning forward - walks with tiny steps - walks nervously - walks without swinging arms - floats instead of walking | 1 |

| Expressions (Reserved) | - raised eyebrows - Unimpressed - closed eyes - nonchalant | 25 |
| Voice Styles | - loud voice - quiet voice - radiant voice - creepy voice | 30 |
| Random set (Bold) | - public farter - snores loudly - sleeps restlessly - throws tantrums | 35 |
| Random set (Reserved) | - scaredy-cat - night owl - fashionista - blinks | 35 |
To be clear, you don’t need to spend a wish each time you give a Mii a Good or Little quirk. You spend a wish to unlock each Good and set of Little quirks, which then become available as an option to give your Miis when they level up.
*The names vary depending on region. These are the US-based names.
T&C Reno Home Supply Wishes
This next category of Tomodachi Life wishes can only be unlocked after you build T&C Reno Home Supply. Then this option will pop up in the Wishing Fountain, where you can unlock specialty interiors to deck out your Miis’ bedrooms and bottom floors (if they have the big houses). Note that these interiors are not purchasable at the shop.

There are 33 year-round interiors to unlock, plus four seasonal interiors — one for spring, two for summer, and one for winter. None for autumn, which feels so wrong. A falling leaves interior would rock! But there is a specialty Halloween interior.
Nineteen of the interiors are immediately available after unlocking this category. Seasonal interiors are not locked behind levels, but instead real life time. Plus, you have to wait for the game to talk about seasonal interiors (and other seasonal wish items) in a newscast before they’ll be up for grabs at the fountain.

Quik Build Amenities Wishes
By amenities, Living the Dream actually means furniture and decorations for your island. In this category, you can unlock 34 year-round decorations (many of which your Miis can interact with), including plants, playground equipment, and seating. There are also 23 seasonal items, with five for spring and 6 for summer, autumn, and winter, and four holiday and miscellaneous items.
The Quik build wishes will be unlocked after you unlock Quik build, which happens after you create five Miis.

Island Builder Wishes
This category should really just be called the paths category, because that’s what it is: unlocking new patterns to use for making paths, roads, and any floor pattern your heart desires. There are seven regular paths available, plus four seasonal paths — one for each season.
This Tomodachi Life wishes category unlocks after you unlock the ability to Island build (which comes after you create your sixth Mii).

Palette House Workshop Wishes
This category doesn’t unlock items but instead the ability to create new things in the Palette House Workshop. There are six types of creations you can unlock: Clothing, Treasures, Island landscaping, House interiors, House exteriors, and Island objects.
This category unlocks once you unlock the Palette House, and if you’re really committed to customizing your island (or irritated with the lack of decor options, which, same), this is the category for you.

Travel Ticket Wishes
This wish category is pretty self-explanatory: you can earn tickets to give to Miis so that they (and some of their best friends and family) can take vacations and earn souvenirs. These are the only Tomodachi Life wishes that are earned by spending wishes, as opposed to leveling up. You earn a new ticket for each five wishes you grant. So for example, a travel ticket isn’t unlocked when you level up your island to level 15. It’s unlocked after you’ve spent 15 wishes. It’s a small difference, but it does matter, considering you don’t have to spend your wishes when you level up.

Travel tickets are unlocked after spending 10 wishes (the first destination is to Oceania), and are the last wish category you unlock. You will have to grant 100 wishes to unlock all 19 tickets. The game does give you a free wish after you unlock each location, though you do not have to spend it on a vacation. Tickets are not a one-time use: you can continue to reuse them, though you have to spend a wish each time to do so.
Unlocking new travel tickets unlocks new honeymoon destinations as well.
Wishing Fountain Completion
There are 157 total unlockables (138 items plus 19 tickets) at the Wishing Fountain. That said, it could take you more or less levels to complete the Wishing Fountain depending on how you spend your wishes. If you choose not to use the bonus wishes from tickets and never spend any wishes on tickets, you can obtain all of the items much quicker. On the flip side, if you send your Miis on a lot of vacations, it might take you longer to amass all the quirks, decorations, and other items.
You’ll know you’ve unlocked everything in a category because its icon will be marked with a golden stamp of completion. If an icon is greyed out without a completion stamp, that’s because you’ve obtained every item currently available to you. This will happen when you don’t have all the seasonal items. For example, as you can see below, my Island Builder category is grayed because I own all the paths except for the autumn and winter paths, because I haven’t reached those seasons yet.

As a pro tip, it's worth banking a few wishes right before a season ends so that way you can jump into a new season with wishes ready to buy all of the new seasonal items (quick reminder that you can time travel, but you will be penalized for doing so by being locked out of new items for a 24 hours).
The fastest way to obtain all of the unlockables with Tomodachi Life wishes is to check in and care for your Miis as much as you can. The more Miis you have, the easier this is done: the more you feed and rub the heads of your Miis, the more warm fuzzies you can grab and the faster you'll level up.
To live your island dreams to the fullest, you're going to do need to do a lot of wishing.
