The newest August 2026 Paralives patch (0.1.8) is now live, and it's intended to be the last patch before the first major update according to the roadmap they shared back in May, though no release date has been confirmed at this time.
In this patch, the Paralives team has addressed more community-requested features and bug fixes. Let's check it out!

What's new
The new patch brought three main quality-of-life improvements and hotfixes. Let's check them out!
More Columns in Paramaker and Build Mode
The team didn't wait for the mod community to add more columns to the Paramaker and Build Mode, and they've already released a way to make it easier for players to visualize all the items in this newest Paralives patch.
More Columns in Paramaker
Players can expand the Paramaker display to up to 4 columns.

More Columns in Build Mode
Players can expand the Build Mode display to up to 7 columns.

Even when the category doesn't have enough items, you can still extend up to the limit.

New Animation
The effort to make the Parafolk look more natural continues, and new refreshed animations for the embarrassed moodlet were released in the latest Paralives patch.

New Camera Mode
The camera configuration is one of the elements that gets a lot of attention in the community, and the team has just released a new camera option called 'Classic.' In contrast to the 'Paralives' camera mode, which works as a click and push, the new 'Classic' mode allows the player to have smoother transitions when moving the camera.
Players can find the new option in the game menu under General > Camera.

This feature even got a dedicated video available on the Paralives social media channels:
Bug Fixes
Some bug fixes were also included in this latest Paralives patch.
Para Info Tab
Fixed cases in which information one Para had about another was not displaying correctly.

Turn On TV and Radio
Turning on TVs received a fix, and now when a Para turns on the TV, a random channel is chosen. The radio's turn-on function still seems to not be working properly and will likely be addressed in a new hotfix.

Children Sitting Animations
It's hard to keep children in one spot, but the sitting animations for children are now fixed, and they can finally get some rest!

Dead Paras Household
When all members of a household pass away, the property is now marked as vacant, allowing new Parafolk to move in (if they dare!).

Other Fixes and Optimisations
This latest Paralives patch also includes fixes for Parafolk dying right after leaving the Paramaker, runaway mirrors, faulty roof tiles, and shops losing their promotional materials. The team has reaffirmed their commitment to reducing lag and stutters, optimizing animation loading, newspaper generation lag reduction, and camera fade-out for obstructing buildings.
To wrap it up
In August 2026, Paralives put out two quality-of-life updates that addressed community-requested changes (like the baby visuals in the last patch) and stayed on track with their plan to keep improving the game throughout early access.
This patch was intended to be the last one before the next big update, but the team has already made it clear that we might get some hotfixes along the way.

Now we want to hear from you! What do you think about the new Paralives patch? Are you excited about the major patch to come? Let us know in the comments!
