SimGuruGrant, a producer on The Sims 4 has confirmed that The Sims 4 My First Pet Stuff Pack “sold well” despite the community feedback about this controversial Stuff Pack.
It’s interesting how My First Pet Stuff went. Community sentiment was frustrated. But, it sold well. For now we probably won’t do this in the future (probably), but I still think it’s interesting. Adding more content for themes that are already released.

Grant confirmed that The Sims Team wanted to experiment with the whole concept of “Stuff Pack for Expansion Pack” and that they stand behind the fact that The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs Expansion Pack is fully done, despite the fact that some of the objects from My First Pet Stuff look similar to the style of objects in Cats & Dogs.
I cannot show you the financials or the details…so what I’ll say has to be taken at face value. But, we didn’t do that. We put everything into Cats & Dogs. I think the timing was a little off, but again, we wanted to experiment.

no, he said it was an “experiment”, but that part wasn’t quoted.
i don’t know how this is so surprising. there will always be people who will buy everything the sims gurus make because it’s the sims. my best friend is just like that, he’s bought everything sim related since sims 3. he even has “katy perry: sweet treats”. another friend of mine said “i’m a bit disappointed, but i’ll still buy it.”
there will always be people like this. all of my friends i spoke to that also play the sims all bought this. it’s truly not surprising to me.
also, you didn’t quote the part where he said “it was an experiment, but something we probably won’t do in the future.”
