The Sims 4 Werewolves: Traits Guide

All about 11 New Traits and how to obtain them!

There are a total of 11 traits in The Sims 4 Werewolves; however, none of them are base personality traits that can be selected in CAS. All the new traits are tied to aspirations, obtained through gameplay, or inherited from werewolf parents.

Some of the trait descriptions are self-explanatory about their effects. Others are more cryptic but we’ll break down how to obtain each trait and how to “unlock” the effects of certain dormant traits.

Lunar Confidant

The Sims 4 Werewolves: Traits Guide
  • How to Obtain: Select any of the new werewolf aspirations
  • Description: These Sims get an initial relationship boost when introducing themselves to werewolves (positive or negative, depending on how they act!)

This trait is easy enough to obtain. Just select the Werewolf Initiate aspiration in CAS. This trait is a bonus trait for selecting any of the aspirations in the new Werewolf category.

Friend of the Wildfangs

The Sims 4 Werewolves: Traits Guide
  • How to Obtain: Befriend the Alpha of the Wildfangs and ask them to become a friend of the pack
  • Description: Sims who are the Friend of a Pack have limited access to that pack’s hangout and can socialize with that pack’s members in special ways.

This trait can be obtained by both Werewolves and non-Werewolves. Basically, it makes you an honourary member of the Wildfangs wolf pack rather than an official member. Essentially, you become their ally and you get some new social interactions with that pack’s members. You can also use their hangout to rest and drop off gifts for the pack.

Friend of the Moonwood Collective

The Sims 4 Werewolves: Traits Guide
  • How to Obtain: Befriend the Alpha of the Moonwood Collective and ask them to become a friend of the pack
  • Description: Sims who are the Friend of a Pack have limited access to that pack’s hangout and can socialize with that pack’s members in special ways.

This is the exact same thing as the Friend of the Wildfangs trait, just for the Moonwood Collective. You’ll become a Moonwood Collective ally and unlock new socials with that pack’s members. You can use their hangout to rest and drop off gifts for the pack.

Fanged Friend

The Sims 4 Werewolves: Traits Guide
  • How to Obtain: Complete the Werewolf Initiate aspiration
  • Description: Fanged Friends get an additional boost to their relationships with both werewolves and non-werewolf Sims.

This is a reward trait for finishing the Werewolf Initiate aspiration. It provides a small boost to all relationships which will be helpful when pursuing any of the other werewolf aspirations that become available after completing this one.

Lunar Link

The Sims 4 Werewolves: Traits Guide
  • How to Obtain: Complete the Cure Seeker aspiration
  • Description: Sims with a Lunar Link retain the special benefits of the Lunar Cycle they once felt as werewolves, and can still howl just like old times!

This trait is handy for werewolves who have become human again because they still get to enjoy the benefits of the moon phases they had when they were werewolves. Being able to howl is just a fun bonus.

Chomp Champion

The Sims 4 Werewolves: Traits Guide
  • How to Obtain: Complete the Wildfang Renegade aspiration
  • Description: Sims turned into werewolves by Chomp Champions won’t negatively react to being turned, and they’ll want to join the Chomp Champion’s pack too!

This is a handy trait for filling up your world with werewolves and growing your pack without incurring any negative feelings from your unwilling participants. It will also make them more receptive to joining your pack immediately.

Refined Lupine

The Sims 4 Werewolves: Traits Guide
  • How to Obtain: Complete the Emissary of the Collective aspiration
  • Description: Refined Lupines turn their noses up at the thought of losing control of their Fury, passively generating less of it over time.

This is a great trait to have if your werewolf Sim is more civilized than those Wildfang brutes and wants to live as normal a life as possible as a werewolf. This trait permanently decreases their Fury gain, meaning they’ll lose control of themselves less often. When paired with other werewolf abilities such as Somber Howl and The Will to Resist, your werewolf may be able to avoid ever losing control, or quickly regain control if they do.

Threatening Presence

The Sims 4 Werewolves: Traits Guide
  • How to Obtain: Complete the Lone Wolf aspiration
  • Description: Sims with a Threatening Presence inspire more fear in those around them, sometimes to the point of fainting. And Greg? Well, to them, he might as well be a cute puppy.

On the flip side, if you want to play the most terrifying, beastly werewolf Moonwood Mill has ever seen, you’ll want this trait. All nearby Sims will become terrified wherever you go and many of them will faint from fear. Your Sim will also no longer fear Greg, as your own fearsomeness has surpassed his.

Werewolf Ally

The Sims 4 Werewolves: Traits Guide
  • How to Obtain: Various methods. See below.
  • Description: These Sims have a special kinship with werewolves and aren’t as alarmed by their werewolfy antics.

This trait is interesting because there seems to be several ways to obtain it. We’ve gotten this trait by reading Beyond Big & Bad: Rethinking Harmful Werewolf Stereotypes at the Moonwood Mill library. We’ve also gotten this trait by pursuing werewolf aspirations. The Werewolf Diplomacy dormant ability will also give your werewolf the ability to bestow this trait on other Sims. There might be even more ways to get this trait that we haven’t seen, yet.

As the description suggests, Sims with this trait won’t be as terrified of werewolves as other Sims, making it easier for werewolves to have positive interactions with them.

Dormant Wolf

The Sims 4 Werewolves: Traits Guide
  • How to Obtain: Inherited at birth from werewolf parents (random chance)
  • Description: The wolf sleeps soundly within [Sim Name]. What would it take to awaken?

Werewolf lineage isn’t as straight-forward as other occults. Normally, there’s a 50/50 chance a child will be born as the same occult type as their parents. For example, a vampire and a spellcaster are guaranteed to have either vampire or spellcaster children. It’s a 50/50 chance which occult type the child will be. With werewolves, a child isn’t always guaranteed to be born as a werewolf, even if both parents are werewolves. They might instead be born as a dormant wolf.

Sims born with this trait are humans and will remain humans their entire lives unless they “awaken the beast within.” The description is deliberately vague to make you figure this out yourself but we’ll tell you how to awaken a dormant wolf. Have your dormant wolf swim in Lake Lunvik at night during a full moon when they are a teen or older. They will transform into a full werewolf when they come to shore.

Greater Wolf Blood

The Sims 4 Werewolves: Traits Guide
  • How to Obtain: Inherited at birth from werewolf parents (random chance)
  • Description: The moon has blessed [Sim Name] with a Greater Wolf Blood, enhancing their werewolf growth. Talk about high expectations!

This trait is essentially the opposite of Dormant Wolf. Babies born with this trait are usually (but not always) born as werewolves; however, if they become werewolves later on, they’ll gain werewolf XP at a faster rate, allowing them to rank up more quickly and buy more abilities. It’s similar to the Weak/Strong/Ancient Bloodline inherited traits for children of spellcasters.

A Collection of Good CAS CC and Gameplay Modifications to make Werewolves look more scary!

When the first pictures of The Sims 4’s Werewolves were leaked, people’s opinions were mixed. Some people didn’t like the aesthetic while others wanted them to look scarier. So as soon as the pack was released, modders went to work to create unique Werewolves that look far from the originals. Here are some of our favorite CC and Mods that make The Sims 4’s werewolves seem more intimidating.

Build Your Own Scary Werewolf in The Sims 4 Werewolves!

Eyes

Alone, these eyes don’t make the werewolves intimidating, but combined with other cc items on this list, they add a lot of depth to the werewolf’s face. Our favorite eyes are by ChippedSim. The Quartz Eyes V2 Edited – Werewolf Addon has 17 default and 17 non-default swatches. And our favorite part, they glow in the dark! You can download it here.

One of the other werewolf eyes that we like as well is Eyes of the Wolf: Default Eyes for Werewolves by Frenchie Sim.

Quartz Eyes V2 Edited – Werewolf Addon by ChippedSim

Tails

Our favorite CC tails are SpinningPlumbob‘s Paintable Tails! There are two styles of tales with two versions of each. The no texture version doesn’t have its own texture and it gets its texture from the back of the werewolf. This means it will look the same as the werewolf. In comparison, the textured version has a transparent texture that adopts some of the overall color from the werewolf. This means you can select from swatches in-game to find the closest match. Then, you can paint over it to find the perfect match.

They are found in the bracelet section in CAS. Be warned, these tails will clip on a lot of items in-game. You can download them here.

Another option is by Simono and is called Wolf Tails. There are 178 swatches and EA swatches are in a separate file. There are 2 color overlays with 178 swatches. Teens to Elders can use them; but werewolves only. They’re found in the ring section. You can download them here.

Muzzle

The Extended Muzzle and Mouth Corner Depth Slider allows you to give your werewolf’s muzzle more prominence. It is by VecD0e on ModTheSims. The mod adds two sliders that can be used on teens to elders. It will not be used on randomly generated sims. You can download it here.

Feet

Wolf Feet by Simomo is a default replacement for the in-game werewolf feet. There are files for both feminine and masculine frames and works only on werewolves. If you’re looking for something different than the EA werewolf feet, try checking Simomo’s take on werewolf feet. You can download it here.

Teeth

One thing that was very different about the werewolves in The Sims 4 from The Sims 3 was the fangs. HOWL – WEREWOLF FANGS 3T4 by PYXIS are converted The Sims 3 werewolves fangs for The Sims 4 werewolves. They work on any werewolf ages teen through elder. There are two swatches. You can download them here.

Howl- Werewolf Fangs 3T4 by PYXIS and Quartz Eyes V2 Edited – Werewolf Addon by ChippedSim

Legs

Animalistic Werewolf Legs by Spinning Plumbobs gives werewolves legs that resemble wolves rather than the current EA werewolf legs. SpinningPlumbobs warns people that they are not perfect, but for many, they are much better than the legs EA chose. You can download it here.

Miscellaneous

The first two CC remove coloring that EA uses on werewolves. No Painted Nose and Ears by TheKalino, which can be downloaded here. Wolf eyeliner begone by NocturneAlley. Download it here.

This last cc is a default skin for werewolves that make them look scarier. Take a look if you want a scarier werewolf experience! WOLF DEFAULT SKIN by ORTELASSA GOLDSTEIN. You can download it here.

Mods

This is a list of mods that we recommend to go with the CC. The first allows werewolves to rampage run all the time. And ChippedSim and Zero both have mods that make werewolf attacks more deadly. And the last mod helps create werewolf packs with werewolf activities.

Build Your Own Scary Werewolf in The Sims 4 Werewolves!
Werewolf Tweaks by ChippedSim allows werewolves to autonomously give cursed bites or by choice when rampaging.

Feral Run: Werewolf Tweak by Lot51 allows werewolves to run on all four feet when not rampaging. You can download it here.
Werewolf Tweaks by ChippedSim adds venomous bites, vicious wolves, wolf protection, and wolfy walk. Venomous bites gives werewolves the ability to give vampires a venomous bite. Vicious wolves allows werewolves to do more while rampaging. Wolf protection allows sims to add wolfsbane to food and drink to protect themselves from werewolves. And finally, Wolfy Walkstyle enables the walk and run walkstyles from rampaging. Download it here.
Zero has made two WereChihuahua mods. There is Werewolf Blood Kills Vampires and Wolves Attack and Kill Sims.
Club Activities: Werewolves by ChippedSim Download it here. This mod adds werewolf activities to club activities. This helps make custom packs using the Get Together Club System.

Ranks and Abilities of Werewolves in The Sims 4

We break down how to make the most of werewolf ranks and abilities!

In The Sims 4 Werewolves, werewolves can progress in strength and power as they use their newfound abilities. Raising your werewolf rank grants you points to spend on more abilities. The higher your rank, the more powerful abilities you can purchase.

After you get the Werebies illness and fully transform into a werewolf (provoking Greg is a good way to become a werewolf if you didn’t start out as one in CAS), you will start at the Pup rank. Continue using Werewolf abilities to gain experience and increase your rank so you can take on better abilities.

Ranks

Ranks and Abilities of Werewolves in The Sims 4

There are five werewolf ranks, each one opening up the next tier of abilities on your werewolf’s ability tree.

  • Pup
  • Runt
  • Prime
  • Veteran
  • Apex

Every time you use a werewolf ability, you gain experience towards reaching the next rank. Pups start out with two points to spend on the first tier of abilities. As they increase their rank, they’ll be awarded more points and higher tiers of abilities will become available. Werewolves get one point each time they fill up one half of the experience bar. There is a marker midway through the experience bar at each rank to show you when you will receive your next point.

This continues all the way until Apex rank. Once your werewolf becomes an Apex, you will have to completely fill up the progress bar to gain another point. Every time you overmax the bar at Apex rank, it resets, allowing you to continue to fill up the bar and gain more points indefinitely as an Apex werewolf. This means werewolves can eventually possess every ability on the ability tree, although it will take you quite a long time to achieve this.

Abilities

Ranks and Abilities of Werewolves in The Sims 4

There are five tiers of abilities your werewolf can unlock, corresponding with your werewolf’s rank. Each rank you gain unlocks the next tier of abilities for purchase.

Some abilities require another ability from a lower rank to be purchased first before you can purchase them.

Pup Abilities

  • Ferocity: Unlocks the Ferocious Intimidation interaction on Sims, which will cause them to run and sometimes drop simoleons when they do.
  • Wolf Nap: Allows you to sleep anywhere on the ground.
  • Territory Marking: Allows you to squat and pee anywhere on the ground.
  • Scavenger: Unlocks the ability to dig anywhere on the ground for relics and other treasures.
  • Personal Grooming: Allows you to replenish your Hygiene motive by licking yourself clean.

Runt Abilities

  • Voracious Hunger: Allows you to eat almost anything… including furniture.
  • Hunter: Unlocks the ability for your werewolf to go hunting for fresh meat. They’ll disappear off the lot for a time and come back with raw meat in their inventory.
  • The Will to Resist: Gain the ability to will yourself back into your human form when you transform against your will. Attempting to regain control after involuntarily transforming works most of the time but not always. If successful, your Fury will also reset to zero.
  • Enhanced Smell: You’ll be able to smell the surroundings to sniff out useful things like the precise location of treasures buried underground. Extremely useful when paired with the Scavenger ability.
  • Sombre Howl: Your werewolf can howl to greatly reduce their Fury but it will saddle them with a minor Sad moodlet for a time. This ability has a cooldown period.

Prime Abilities

  • Lunar Blessing: Any benefits from the current moon phase remain active during daytime hours.
  • Nightvision: Allows your werewolf to see better in the tunnels. Helpful for finding more relics and other treasures while exploring the tunnel system.
  • Natural Healing: Your werewolf will recover from injuries more quickly.
  • Pack Howl: (Requires Hunter) Gain the ability to howl with nearby werewolves to replenish the Social motive.
  • Curse Bearer: Gives your werewolf the ability to infect other Sims with Werebies by biting them, either with or without permission from the recipient.

Veteran Abilities

  • Vicious Howl: Your werewolf can let out such a terrifying howl that all nearby non-werewolves will faint from fear.
  • Hunting Party: Your werewolf can go hunting in a group as a social activity.
  • Lunar Resistance: Your werewolf becomes immune to the effects of the full moon.
  • Tunneler: (Requires Scavenger) A method of quick travel around the world where your werewolf will burrow underground and come out of the ground in a different area.
  • Primal Instincts: Allows your werewolf to activate their primal instincts which makes them more resistant to negative emotions.

Apex Abilities

  • Super Speed: Allows you to run incredibly fast.
  • Alpha Wolf: Win most fights against other werewolves.
  • Immortal Wolf: (Requires Natural Healing) Makes your werewolf immortal and allows them to live forever, barring any unforeseen accidents.
  • Lunar Howl: Gain the ability to reroll your temperaments by using the Lunar Howl self-interaction. This can only be done outdoors at night and has a 24 hour cooldown period. You cannot control which new temperaments you’ll gain. You just have to keep using Lunar Howl every night until you get a set of temperaments you like.
  • Legacy of the Lycan: Allows you to exchange any unused ability points for 250 Satisfaction Points each. This ability can be selected multiple times. Especially useful for players who already have every werewolf ability and can no longer spend their ability points on new abilities.

Dormant Abilities

Ranks and Abilities of Werewolves in The Sims 4

In addition to abilities that can be unlocked and purchased through progressing in your werewolf ranks, there are also dormant abilities that can be unlocked. All werewolves possess these abilities but they don’t become active until your werewolf unlocks that power.

Each dormant ability has a different requirement to be unlocked. Once unlocked, your werewolf is permanently able to use that ability. A werewolf can unlock all six dormant abilities if they want.

Werewolf Empathy

Ranks and Abilities of Werewolves in The Sims 4
  • Unlock By: Reaching Delta rank in a wolf pack
  • Description: Can pacify other werewolves to help them lower their Fury. This ability has quite a long cooldown period per Sim; a few days from what we could see while playing.

Lunar Epiphany

Ranks and Abilities of Werewolves in The Sims 4
  • Unlock By: Reading any of the werewolf books in Moonwood Mill. You may have to read quite a few books; it took us some time to unlock it.
  • Description: Your werewolf will be able to decipher the ancient language written on the Moonwood Relic collection pieces. This will reveal lore about Moonwood Mill’s history when you hover over any deciphered relic piece.

Werewolf Mentorship

Ranks and Abilities of Werewolves in The Sims 4
  • Unlock By: Using Practice Howling, Share Werewolf Experiences, or Pack Mentor on a Good Friend werewolf as a Veteran werewolf.
  • Description: Werewolves with this ability offer bonus experience gain, mood boosts, and relationship boosts to any werewolf they mentor, howl with, or share werewolf experiences with.

Werewolf Menace

Ranks and Abilities of Werewolves in The Sims 4
  • Unlock By: Using Ferocious Intimidation, Vicious Howl, or Turn into Werewolf on a Sim who is already frightened while your Fury is below maximum
  • Descripion: Your werewolf will become Playful when scaring non-werewolves.

Werewolf Diplomacy

Ranks and Abilities of Werewolves in The Sims 4
  • Unlock By: Successfully Ask for Werewolf Sympathy on a non-werewolf Sim
  • Description: Your werewolf can bestow the Werewolf Ally trait on other Sims which will make them no longer fear werewolves.

Transformation Mastery

Ranks and Abilities of Werewolves in The Sims 4
  • Unlock By: Preventing your werewolf from scaring any Sims during a Fury-induced rampage. This is more difficult than it seems! Werewolves will autonomously send frightening texts to people while rampaging (even while locked in an empty room). This counts as scaring a Sim and the action can’t be cancelled. We found it easiest to unlock this ability by using the Will to Resist ability successfully immediately upon transforming before getting an opportunity to scare anyone. You can also have a werewolf with Werewolf Empathy pacify your Sim as soon as they transform.
  • Description: Your werewolf will be able to transform into a werewolf and back into a human whenever they want; however, they are still vulnerable to transforming involuntarily during a full moon and when their Fury maxes out.

New Info About The Sims 4 Content Update and High School Years

SimGurus have answered more questions regarding the Upcoming Expansion Pack and Base Game Update!

SimGuruGeorge went on a huge spree on Twitter of providing answers regarding The Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack. Shortly after the livestream he shared insightful information about both the Pack and Base Game Update.

Down below are the official answers from SimGuruGeorge, as well as the official statement from The Sims regarding the upcoming Sexual Orientation Update.

Missed the official Livestream? We have a full Written Recap and Summary!

Placing Any Window on a Curved Wall

The move objects cheat will allow you to put any window you want on a curved wall. They won’t all look good just because of the width of them, but you can make that call on your own builds. The filter in B/B is there to help find windows that should look good on curves.

New Info About The Sims 4 Content Update and High School Years

Looking dapper!

Expansion of Wants and Fears

There are a long list of wants & fears. I don’t recall all of them off hand. There are some that are specific to The Sims 4 High School Years but the team did go back and add some for the previous content. I’m sure more can be added for future packs too.

The Phone Updates and Additions

The trendi and social bunny apps are a part of The Sims 4 High School Years, but the phone overhaul is coming to everyone.

Also – Wants *and* Fears have their own Toggle Option in the Game Settings!

Everybody liked that.

About the School Schedule

The school schedule might seem weird at first. But consider different families you start playing at different times, kids aging up mid week, teens aging up as well.

The schedule aims to allow all teens a chance to experience all the key high school events no matter when they join or leave high school.

One of those interesting choices we have to make when designing for the different possibilities the Sims provided.

By the way – Prom Attendance is Optional!

Don’t want to turn your Fears forcefully into a reality, right?

So, what about the School Year lenght and customization?

The school year is equal to the teen lifespan you set in the gameplay options.

And the Sexual Orientation Update?

The Sims Team released the following statement:

Sul Sul Simmers! This feature will be yours to utilize according to your Sims’ stories. Your newly-created Sims & current Sims will romantically behave as they currently do prior to the release of this feature unless you change their orientation settings in Create a Sim. If you do not change their settings, Sims will have no inherent attraction to a gender, attraction can shift through gameplay, & they will WooHoo with any gender – the default state for a new Sim. Happy Simming!

Buyable Ultrasound Images and Birth Certificates for The Sims 4

Family players will love these CC buyable ultrasound images and birth certificates!

Players who own Get To Work have the option of giving birth at the hospital, which gives your Sim a birth certificate for the new bundle of joy. The only problem is if you choose to have a home birth, you don’t get a birth certificate. Other times, birth certificates can get lost or the Sim info attached to them can break over time.

Buyable Ultrasound Images and Birth Certificates for The Sims 4

Ravasheen‘s Better or Birth Customizable Birth Certificate mod gives you the ability to purchase a birth certificate from Build/Buy so no matter where your baby was born, they still have a birth certificate. It’s also base game compatible so players without Get To Work can use them. Click on the birth certificate to add any Sim in the household to it.

As well as the birth certificates, Ravasheen’s added a custom ultrasound image, also buyable in Build/Buy. Assign a Sim in the household in the same way you’d add them to a birth certificate and display the ultrasound image anywhere on a wall or a postcard corkboard.

Buyable Ultrasound Images and Birth Certificates for The Sims 4

Since these are not overrides, they are fully compatible with LittleMsSam’s Advanced Birth Certificate and Ultrasound Scan mods. I love using them together for more display options.

We’d love to see ultrasound scans for twins and triplets added to this mod as well for even more versatility!

The Better or Birth mod is currently in early access but will become free on August 4th, 2022!

World Tour of Moonwood Mill in The Sims 4 Werewolves!

Take a tour of this foggy abandoned logging town! What secrets will you discover?

The Sims 4 Werewolves comes with a new world called Moonwood Mill. The world is inspired by the natural landscapes of Northern Canada. It’s an old logging town that has since been abandoned except for a few… interesting residents who have made the old ghost town their home.

Moonwood Mill has one neighbourhood with 5 lots but there is a lot to explore outside of the lots. Despite it’s small number of lots, the world feels very open and interactive due to the number of places to fish, scavenge, garden, and explore in the large common spaces. Exploring everything the town has to offer will reveal detailed lore about the town’s history.

Even though there is only one neighbourhood, the world is unofficially divided into a north and south section by a river that runs through the middle of the town. The two areas are inhabited by the two werewolf packs in Moonwood Mill, with the Moonwood Collective in the north section closer to the lake and the Wildfangs in the south section in the middle of town. We’ll be dividing this guide between Moonwood Collective and Wildfangs territory to give you a better perspective of where everything is located.

World Description

World Tour of Moonwood Mill in The Sims 4 Werewolves!

Once upon a time, Moonwood Mill was filled with the bustle and sound of the nearby lumber mill. Today, the town is transformed. The rusted shells of its former industry provide cover for a handful of mysterious denizens who’ve sought out this wilderness-shrouded community, basking in its remote and anonymous nature. It’s a place with a hidden history, and those who live here know that if you dig deep enough, you’re bound to discover some fascinating secrets.

Wildfang Territory

Prowler’s Patch

  • Lot Type: Residential
  • Size: 30×30
  • Value: $3,765
  • Lot Traits/Challenges: None

Prowler’s Patch is an empty lot in the south section of town. While it doesn’t have a great view with graffitied porta-potties on one side and dilapidated factories in front, it is in a convenient location in the centre of town with the Wildfangs’ hangout close by. This would be a great location for a Sim looking to join the Wildfangs and if they have the right werewolf abilities, they won’t even need to build on the lot. They can live completely wild in the great outdoors.

Grimtooth Bar & Bunker

World Tour of Moonwood Mill in The Sims 4 Werewolves!
  • Lot Type: Bar
  • Size: 50×40
  • Value: $60,437
  • Lot Traits/Challenges: None

Moonwood Mill’s bar is the place to be if you want to let your wild side out with friends. The bar serves plenty of meat-based dishes for its canine patrons and there’s a bonfire, jukebox, guitar, and microphone for some live entertainment. Beneath the bar, there’s a large underground bunker that’s open to the public; however, you might want to steer clear if you’re not into the werewolf scene. Local werewolves have been known to crash and party here.

If you’ve been afflicted with Werebies and sweating it out isn’t doing you any good, you can talk to the bartender here to get your hands on an antidote that will cure you before you fully transform into a werewolf.

The Moonwood Mill Library

World Tour of Moonwood Mill in The Sims 4 Werewolves!
  • Lot Type: Library
  • Size: 40×30
  • Value: $59,415
  • Lot Traits/Challenges: None

The library is inside an abandoned factory that has extensive exterior damage but is full of werewolf knowledge just waiting to be discovered. New werewolves who want to unlock the Lunar Epiphany dormant ability should spend some time browsing through the werewolf books here. Anyone wanting to get over their fear of werewolves might want to pick up a copy of Beyond Big & Bad: Dispelling Harmful Werewolf Stereotypes.

The library also has computers, an observatory, and a small telescope so you can do your Internet browsing and moongazing all in one place.

Moonwood Collective Territory

New Moon Shack

World Tour of Moonwood Mill in The Sims 4 Werewolves!
  • Lot Type: Residential
  • Size: 20×15
  • Value: $17,027
  • Beds/Baths: 2bd, 1ba
  • Lot Traits/Challenges: None

This tiny starter home is a cozy little place to put down roots in Moonwood Mill. It’s close to the Moonwood Collective hangout so anyone looking to join their pack will benefit from its convenient location. It also has a lovely view of Lunvik Lake and is surrounded by picturesque forests. Two bedrooms make this an ideal place to raise a little werewolf family… or a human family who doesn’t mind their neighbours’ wolfy antics.

The Collective Cabin

World Tour of Moonwood Mill in The Sims 4 Werewolves!
  • Lot Type: Residential
  • Size: 40×30
  • Value: $50,626
  • Beds/Baths: 4bd, 2ba
  • Lot Traits/Challenges: None

This home is occupied by the Volkov family and is the only occupied residential lot in town. The alpha of the Moonwood Collective, Kristopher Volkov, lives here with his teenage son, Jacob Volkov, and a family friend, Lily Zhu. Naturally, it’s close to the Moonwood Collective hangout.

The house has two floors with three bedrooms on the second floor. A fourth bedroom is inside the garden shed where Lily resides. The lot has a spacious garden with lots of planters. If you decide to evict the Volkovs and move in yourself or join the Volkov family, this is a great location for avid gardeners and outdoor enthusiasts.

Other Notable Locations

Apart from the five lots in Moonwood Mill, there are plenty of off-lot locations to explore in Moonwood Mill. Since the town only has one large, expansive neighbourhood, you can freely roam around the entire world discovering new locations and items no matter what lot you’re on.

Underground Tunnel System

There is an underground network of tunnels in Moonwood Mill that can be accessed from several locations; the portal-potties next to the river on the south side of town, the sewer grate on the far south end of town, and the old bunker in the north end of town to the right of the Volkov residence. There is also a tunnel entrance object in Build/Buy that can be placed on any lot to connect you to the tunnel system more easily.

These tunnels can serve as a method of quick travel around the world once you’ve discovered a new route but they are also full of relics and other treasures. Having the Nightvision ability as a werewolf will allow you to see these treasures more easily and help you find new tunnel routes faster. Humans can enter the tunnels, too, but beware! You might get attacked and leave with a bad case of the Werebies…

Moonwood Collective Hangout

World Tour of Moonwood Mill in The Sims 4 Werewolves!

The Moonwood Collective hangout is located at the far north of town to the left of the Volkov residence. It’s a tall evergreen tree with a hole in the trunk and is usually decorated with stars and moons hanging from the branches. You’ll see members of the Moonwood Collective pack hanging out here during the daytime hours. If you’re an ally or a member of the pack, you’ll have various interactions available to you on the hangout.

Wildfangs Hangout

World Tour of Moonwood Mill in The Sims 4 Werewolves!

The Moonwood Collective hangout is located in the south end of town near the dilapidated library. It’s a small trailer with a bonfire and weights set outside and is usually decorated in graffiti. You’ll see members of the Wildfangs pack hanging out here during the nighttime hours but they can occasionally be spotted during the day, too. If you’re an ally or a member of the pack, you’ll have various interactions available to you on the hangout.

Greg’s Trailer

World Tour of Moonwood Mill in The Sims 4 Werewolves!

Greg’s trailer is located in the tall grass directly west of Lunvik Lake. The trailer itself is not clickable and Greg does not show up unless you examine the warning signs in front of his trailer. When he does appear, he’s in wolf form and has max Fury so he’s very volatile and dangerous. Players can try to communicate with him, distract him, or provoke him into attacking them. Greg hates other werewolves but a human might be able to befriend him more easily.

Lunvik Lake lies at the base of the big cliff in Moonwood Mill and is a great location for both swimming and fishing. During the full moon, the mist over the lake glows a very pretty blue and a rare fish can be caught here during this time. Humans born with the Dormant Wolf trait should swim in Lake Lunvik under a full moon once they become teens to awaken the sleeping beast within them…

Moonwood Cliff

World Tour of Moonwood Mill in The Sims 4 Werewolves!

Moonwood Cliff is in the north end of town and impossible to miss. It’s huge and towers over the whole town. The cliff can be accessed through an opening at the base and rampaging werewolves will often go to the top of the cliff to howl at the moon here, sometimes with their pack mates. The rare moonpetal flower also grows at the top of this cliff but it only blooms during a full moon.

Modder to Unlock Building Sims 4 High Schools in Other Worlds

It’s pretty much possible according to Zerbu – a reliable Modder!

It was pretty apparent that The Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack would have a trick up its sleeve. At least when it comes to delivering the bad news.

It was revealed in the livestream for The Sims 4 High School Years that players won’t be able to place High Schools outside of Copperdale. The new world coming with the Expansion Pack!

Modder to Unlock Building Sims 4 High Schools in Other Worlds

Zerbu, a talented Modder for The Sims 4 has revealed that he will work on a Mod Solution for that!

https://twitter.com/ZerbuTabek/status/1548021176642850817

In case you don’t know, Zerbu previously created some pretty amazing stuff for the game. Including the World Duplicator, The Mod Constructor, and oh – the Go To School Mod Pack. All the way back in 2015!

We are pretty confident that the Mod will be the perfect solution for players of The Sims 4 on PC and Mac. ( sorry Consoles :/ )

To set expectations, the Mod will first allow players of The Sims 4 High School Years to change the High School location. Ability to have multiple High Schools in one save is something he hopes to look into after the Pack release:

The Sims Teases Us With the Yearbook Photos of Iconic Sims 4 Households

And they snuck a fair bit of lore and easter eggs into them, too!

Today, The Sims promoted the upcoming High School Years pack on their social media pages by showing off the high school yearbook photos of Mortimer, Bella, Nancy, Geoffrey, Bob, and Eliza!

At first glance, it just looks like a fun little graphic to get players hyped for the new expansion but upon closer inspection, these yearbook photos have some subtle and not-so-subtle references in them, including some brand new information never before known about these iconic Sims!

via GIPHY

So here’s the yearbook:

The Sims Teases Us With the Yearbook Photos of Iconic Sims 4 Households

And here’s everything we spotted within the pages of said yearbook!

  • Geoffrey took Nancy’s last name when they married, which makes sense since Nancy comes from a much more prestigious family. This isn’t exactly new information; it was mentioned in their family bio in The Sims 3 but for players who never played The Sims 3, this will be a revelation for them.
  • Previously, we never knew what Eliza and Geoffrey’s maiden names were but now we know for certain that Eliza Pancakes was once Eliza Hastings and Geoffrey Landgraab was once Geoffrey Osteer! Bella’s maiden name is Bachelor but that’s no surprise. It’s been common knowledge since The Sims 2.
  • Eliza’s yearbook quote is a reference to the teen drama television series, Glee, which ran from 2009 to 2015.
  • Mortimer’s yearbook quote appears to be inspired by Gomez Addams but this should be no surprise given that the Goth family is based on The Addams’ Family.
  • Nancy appears to have had a nose job done after high school. This could be a reference to the character Rachel Greene from the popular 90s sitcom, Friends. Rachel also comes from wealth and had a nose job after high school.
  • It looks like Nancy was a cheerleader in high school which we can definitely see for her!
  • The stickers beside each portrait represent the traits of the Sims. Bob is a slob, Eliza is a perfectionist, Bella is romantic, Mortimer is creative, Nancy is ambitious, and Geoffrey is good.
  • The doodle B + M with a heart no doubt refers to Bella and Mortimer. It was scribbled next to Bella’s portrait, which indicates she’s had a crush on him since high school. Perhaps they were dating? Although this doesn’t exactly explain the huge age difference between them.
  • Other doodles next to the pictures represent different aspects of each Sim’s personality. Clouds for gloomy Bob, stars for perfectionist Eliza, a ghost for spooky Mortimer, a simoleon symbol for snobby Nancy, and a rainbow for Geoffrey’s good heart.
  • Apparently, all six of these Sims went to Copperdale High together. It makes sense if Copperdale is the only high school in The Sims 4 but again… the age discrepancy between not just Bella and Mortimer but all these Sims makes it unlikely they all attended Copperdale at the same time. Still, this is a really fun graphic we enjoyed analyzing!

Prom is Back! And Now You Can Take Your Friends

No need to worry about prom dates anymore, now you can just take your friends!

A long requested feature from previous game, proms are back! SimGuruGeorge and SimGuruJessica did a deep dive livestream on Jul 15th going over the new features in the High School Years Expansion Pack. During the livestream, they went over prom and promposals, including the ability to go to prom with someone as friends.

Prom is Back! And Now You Can Take Your Friends

In addition to the traditional romantic date, you now have the option to go to prom as friends. This option is both in the friendly menu and the Prom menu. And if your Sim is turned down after asking a Sim to the prom romantically, you can still ask them to go as friends, too. After they accept, the sims hug. This option will be great for the Socially Awkward sims, sims focusing on their studies, or sims not interested in romantic relationships.

Let’s Build a Private School in The Sims 4 for Copperdale!

Upgrade Copperdale High to a private school when High School Years launches!

As a generational player, I could not be more excited about the High School Years expansion. While I wish it wasn’t quite so USA-centric, the expansion is still pretty much everything I’ve wanted for my teenagers for the last eight years. Parenthood was a fun addition for teens but High School Years is going to blow Parenthood out of the water. I just can’t wait to get my hands on this expansion!

There was just one little problem for me, however. I’ve been playing my main save for so many years that all my Sims are descended from old money and in my head, I’ve always imagined my kids and teens attending very elite private schools thanks to their family’s wealth. Copperdale High, while a great public school build, was not the vibe I was looking for for my private school teens. So I set out to build Copperdale Prep Academy, the finest and most expensive private secondary school in the Sim world!

Let’s Build a Private School in The Sims 4 for Copperdale!

I saw in the livestream that Copperdale High is a 64×64 lot so I picked out a 64×64 lot and got to work building the fanciest private school I possibly could. I did not use any modded content but I did go crazy with packs and kits for this one. I really wanted to utilize everything I had available to me to create the feel I was going for.

I managed to find a screenshot of the high school lot requirements and focused on those necessary areas, first. I made sure there were two classrooms, a cafeteria area, and anything else necessary for a school to function (desks, washrooms, computers, etc).

On the first floor, there is a lobby as you walk inside with trophy cases and a grand staircase. To the left is the dining hall which currently has the barista station from Get Together but will have the necessary cafeteria object when the expansion comes out. To the right is the administrative section of the school. The main office is located here which connects to the headmaster/headmistress’ office. There are also washrooms in this section and a janitor’s closet. Stairs lead down to the basement level of the school, but we’ll tour the basement last.

In the north wing of the first floor is the gymnasium with a full basketball court, raised bleachers, and exits out to the back of the school where there are social areas for the teens during lunch and after classes.

Upstairs there is a large classroom set up for a business or economics class of some kind, a large library with a computer lab section and chess tables for the computer and chess clubs, and a debate podium for those aspiring valedictorians to perfect their graduation speeches. Or just argue with their classmates in an administration-approved setting. Whichever. In the west wing of the second floor is the art room and music room. The art room has both easels and digital sketch pads and the music room has just about every musical tool and instrument any top-notch high school might have.

Copperdale Prep Academy prides itself on its top-rated extra curricular facilities, like its indoor pool and photography studio with a dark room, both located in the basement, along with change rooms and a science lab which is the second functional classroom for this build. At least, it will be when High School Years comes out and it gets updated with the necessary objects.

It took two full days of building and would have taken much longer if I didn’t already have the gym, cafeteria, and classroom built as storytelling set rooms in my library, but Copperdale Prep Academy is finally ready to accept new students!

You can download Copperdale Prep Academy by clicking the button below or search Copperdale Prep Academy under the ID SnarkyWitch in the Gallery! If you like this build, I’d really appreciate it if you clicked the heart button and left a nice comment, too!

I’ll see you fine Simmers at Copperdale Prep in the autumn!

Teens Have New Ways to Hang Out in The Sims 4 High School Years!

New ways of hanging out and socializing!

During the High School Years Deep Dive Livestream, SimGuruGeorge and SimGuruJessica showed us the new ways that Sims can hang out. SimGuruJessica discussed the importance of more naturally being able to use beds and the importance of beds to teens in general.

They showed off a Sim sitting cross-legged and speaking to another Sim sitting on the bed.

You can also have two Sims pillow fight or have them sit on the floor cross-legged and talk. You will need to direct each Sim to sit individually. They did not mention if this will work with Sims outside the household.

With autonomy on, it will be difficult to have two Sims sit on the floor cross-legged at the same time, according to SimGuruGeorge. The Sims during the livestream did not stay on the ground for more than a few seconds which he attributed to autonomy.

The Unabridged History of Moonwood Mill

Want the lore but don’t want to sift through the fragmented info scattered around Moonwood Mill? We’ve done it for you!

The Sims 4 Werewolves comes with the most extensive background lore we’ve ever seen in The Sims 4 to date. It answers so many questions about not just how Werewolves came to be, but Spellcasters and Vampires as well. The lore explains many mysteries that the fandom has mused about for years but it’s all scattered throughout different objects and locations in Moonwood Mill.

Piecing it all together into a cohesive narrative isn’t the easiest of tasks but we’ve managed to compile the vast majority of the town’s history from all of these fragments and put it all together in a timeline.

May we present… The Unabridged History of Moonwood Mill, by SnarkyWitch.

Ancient Times

The Unabridged History of Moonwood Mill

Long ago, Moonwood Mill used to be an ancient Myshupotamian city. The Myshupotamians believed that the greatest minds of their society were reborn as wolves that howled to store their wisdom in the moon. As the moon moved through its waxing phases, the growing light each night represented the moon being filled with the wisdom of their wolf ancestors. On the night of the full moon when the moon had become full with this wisdom, the Myshupotamians wore wolf-masks and ceremoniously drew upon all of the moon’s stored wisdom. As the moon waned afterwards, the fading light represented the moon’s wisdom being dispersed amongst the people.

The Myshupotamians were also known for their ability to tame Cowplants. They used their Cowplant allies as stationary sentinels of defense to protect their people from threats. They also experimented with cross-breeding them to be mobile attack units; however, cross-breeding mobile Cowplants was a very difficult venture and they had limited success with this.

It is believed that the first Werewolves who would come later looked to the ancient Myshupotamians as their inspiration for harnessing the moon’s power.

The Original Mooncasters

The Unabridged History of Moonwood Mill

In later times, a group of Spellcasters sought to use the moon’s powers as a means of enhancing their own magic. They took on wolf familiars and used the moon’s energy to draw upon their wolf’s nature and characteristics. These Spellcasters became the first Mooncasters. Records point to four individual Mooncasters as being the original Mooncasters: Greggorius Lunvik, Avalina Lunvik, Maria Volkov, and Yina Kia.

The four original Mooncasters performed a highly unstable spell from the Untamed school of magic atop Moonwood Mill’s Howling Point cliff to imbue themselves with the qualities of their wolf familiars. The spell was more powerful than they anticipated and caused an overload which transformed them into the first Werewolves. This overload also created the moonpetal flower and infused Lake Lunvik with lunar energy which in turn created the Luna Fish. Later, the moonpetal and the lunar waters would play a large role in the Mooncasters’ ceremonies. The newly born Werewolves embraced their new existence but each had a different view about what it truly means to be a Werewolf.

Greggorius’ (yes, THAT Greg’s) wolf familiar was named Brutus. Brutus was a fearsome alpha wolf and through him, Greggorius also adopted the beastly strength of his familiar. Avalina Lunvik was his wife and they were very close friends with their fellow Mooncaster, Yina Kia. However; Greggorius and Maria Volkov were often embroiled in intense disagreements with each other.

Avalina’s wolf familiar was named Gibby. Gibby had a special connection with the moon, which enhanced Avalina’s fascination with the night sky. She dedicated much of her life to studying the moon and the cosmos. She was convinced that her research would aid her husband’s efforts to experiment with his Fury.

The Unabridged History of Moonwood Mill

Maria’s wolf familiar was named Verity. Verity had a distinguished, princely nature which enhanced Maria’s dedication to enrichment and diplomacy. She was often at odds with Greggorius and felt like Greggorius was just jealous of her ability to control her Fury. Maria’s husband was named John and their son is Kristopher Volkov, who is currently the Moonwood Collective’s alpha. Maria is also the author of A History of Moonwood Mill, one of the books that can be found at the Moonwood Mill library.

Yina Kia’s wolf familiar was named Renga. Renga had a love of adventure and passed his Wanderlust into Yina. Yina was married to a non-Werewolf named Emmy, who disliked her wife’s thrill-seeking nature and just wanted to settle down. Yina’s thirst for action led to her demise when she was killed by a Cowplant of the Moocasters (Not to be confused with Mooncasters; more on them shortly). Her best friend, Greggorius, was deeply affected by her death and Renga remained glued to Emmy’s side until his dying day.

Old records also name Kiyah, Logan, Mikal, and Wugbug as wolf familiars of the original Mooncasters. It’s unclear if these are aliases for Verity, Renga, Brutus, and Gibby. They may also be the familiars of other unnamed Mooncasters. It’s also possible that the game developers changed the names of the wolves midway through production and simply forgot to update the names in all text strings.

Operation Eternal Flame

The Unabridged History of Moonwood Mill

One might say that the Spellcasters’ own hubris proved to be their downfall because they are responsible not just for the creation of the first Werewolves but also the first Vampires. Ultimately their mistakes led to the destruction of their own Realm and a centuries-long war that almost wiped them out of existence.

The Spellcasters were experimenting with creating duplicates of themselves but they became frustrated that these duplicates still needed food to survive. To try and maximize the efficiency of these duplicates, they fed them potions and in doing so, created monsters. The potions turned the duplicated Spellcasters into permanent mutations who turned on their creators, feasting upon them. The magical blood of the Spellcasters they consumed enhanced their strength and thus became the first Vampires. This event was the catalyst that started a grisly war between Spellcasters and Vampires.

In an effort to eradicate all the Spellcasters, the Vampires launched Operation Eternal Flame; a covert mission to turn every last Spellcaster into Vampires.

In response to Operation Eternal Flame, the Spellcasters divided into two groups; Mooncasters and Moocasters. Both drew inspiration from the ancient Myshupotamians and both were united in their efforts to thwart Operation Eternal Flame but their methods differed. While the Mooncasters focused on drawing down the power of the moon to amplify their powers, the Moocasters revived the Myshupotamian practice of taming and cross-breeding Cowplants to use as weapons against the Vampires. Unlike their ancient ancestors, the Moocasters had great success with cross-breeding their Cowplants.

At first, the Mooncasters and Moocasters enjoyed a prosperous alliance, working together to fight against the Vampires. The alliance fell apart when one of the original Mooncasters, Yina Kia, was killed by one of the Moocasters’ Cowplants during a joint defense mission. With the Spellcasters now at odds with each other, the Vampires gained the upper hand in the war and pushed the Spellcasters to the brink of extinction.

The Sims 4™ Realm of Magic Official Gameplay 184

Near the end of Operation Eternal Flame, the last remaining Spellcasters attempted to harness unstable magic once again in desperation to save their kind. They derived a spell from the Untamed school that could cure every Vampire in the world. One spell that could reach across the globe and turn every Vampire human, wiping them out forever. The spell was too powerful and backfired on them, causing a massive overload that ripped The Magic Realm apart. To this day, The Magic Realm is still in fragmented pieces from this disastrous spell gone awry.

Modern Moonwood

The Unabridged History of Moonwood Mill

As time passed and the Mooncasters had children, it became apparent that unlike other magical beings, Lycanthropy wasn’t guaranteed to be passed down through the generations. Some of the Mooncasters’ children were both with dormant wolf genes. These children sought out a way to awaken those dormant genes. They discovered that swimming in Lake Lunvik under a full moon would awaken the dormant wolf and complete their transformation.

Many years later, closer to modern times, refugees fleeing from conflict came to settle in Moonwood Mill, although they simply called the area The Moonwood when they arrived. They gave it this name because they believed the densely forested area was imbued with lunar energy.

The founding settlers in The Moonwood built the town’s sawmill and factories. The mill and the factories allowed the town to flourish and people flocked there for both employment opportunities and a more rugged life close to nature. Over time, the mill became embedded in the identity of the town and The Moonwood began to be called Moonwood Mill.

The Unabridged History of Moonwood Mill

During the height of the Moonwood mill’s productivity, the mill’s founders established The Moonwood Collective; an organization that encouraged its members to strive towards self-sustainability, diplomatic communication, and communal contribution.

The Diary of Greggorius Lunvik mentions something called the Century Conflict and states that following this conflict, the remaining Werewolves scattered around the world but Kristopher Volkov chose to stay. It’s not entirely clear whether the Century Conflict refers to Operation Eternal Flame or if this is another conflict that happened later that might explain why the once-prosperous Moonwood Mill now lies abandoned. One theory is that perhaps the human settlers in Moonwood Mill were frightened by their Werewolf neighbours and left the town but I didn’t find any specific information in the game that confirms or challenges this theory.
