Big news! During today’s Behind The Sims Livestream we’ve gotten a first visual preview of Animations, Visuals and Lighting coming with The Sims 5.
Codenamed Project Rene, The Sims 5 is set out to bring Simmers on a whole new experience with rich gameplay and customization features. EA and Maxis are set out to make The Sims 5 experience fully playable across multiple platforms – crossing the bridge between HD (PC and Console) and Mobile.

We’re really leaning into just clear, playful and simple visuals that are starting to give us a feel on how much information is too much or too little and see what’s working. We can really better horn in that sweet spot to help you better understand what your Sims are actually talking about.
As you can see there are many elements that we are exploring and solving for. We’re very excited to be able to share at this early stage!

The Sims Team is continuing their new Behind The Sims format, with a new episode premiering live on June 27th, 2023.
In case you don’t know, EA has announced a new format in the beginning of this year called Behind The Sims. This pre-recorded format aims to cover multiple titles from The Sims Franchise. Including PC and Console titles (The Sims 4, Project Rene) as well as Mobile titles (The Sims Freeplay and Mobile). Each Behind The Sims Livestream had something new for the players – from the reveal of the Infants Update to unseen footage of The Sims 5.

In a surprising turn of events, a full list of Sims 4 Horse Ranch items has been published on the EA App. Just a few days after the reveal and announcement of said Expansion Pack!
The list of objects from The Sims 4 Horse Ranch contains a wide array of items. There are new customization features for Horses, clothing for Sims of all ages and a catalogue of Build Mode objects that heavily focuses on the Equestrian theme of Chestnut Ridge.

The Create A Sim catalogue for The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion has something new for every Sim. And Horse!
The new Sims clothing in CAS covers Hairstyles, Accessories, Fits, Shoes and more for Sims of every age. When it comes to Horses Customization, you’ll be able to change their Mane, Saddle, Tails, Hooves and so much more. Plus, if you look closer, you’ll see a Unicorn Horn! Which could mean that Unicorns are included in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch.

The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Items: Build
The Sims 4 players are in for a treat when it comes to the Build Mode catalogue of the Horse Ranch Expansion.
There are 199 Build Mode objects listed on the EA App. However, we believe that there are probably more waiting for you in the BuyDebug section. Since we’re also getting a new world, it won’t come as a surprise that you get lots of new environmental objects as well.

Three squabbling siblings want to get their hands on grandma’s inheritance!
The Sims 4 scenarios are back! The latest scenario added to the game is a new welcome scenario called Family Fortune. This scenario has you play with a premade family made specifically for the scenario; the Landry family. The family consists of elderly (and wealthy) Nyssa Landry and her three adult grandchildren, Eddie, Ava, and Lila Landry. All three of her grandchildren want a piece of her inheritance but Nyssa is not happy with the way her squabbling grandchildren have been living their lives and is threatening to leave them nothing if they don’t smarten up!

Getting Started
Like all other Sims 4 scenarios, start this scenario by clicking the giant Scenarios button on the main menu and selecting Family Fortune under the Welcome Scenarios category. Hovering over this scenario will reveal information about the scenario and possible outcomes.
Difficulty: Intermediate

I wasn’t given the option to play in an existing save when I selected this scenario. I was taken right to the move-in screen on the world map with this family in a new save. The family comes with $80,000 simoleons so you should be able to find, download, or build a decent home for them.
I moved them into an Uptown apartment in San Myshuno and just slapped down some basic furnishings for the sake of hopping right into gameplay. I promise I’m a good interior decorator, don’t judge me!
Learn to Get Along
Mandatory Goals:
Throw a dinner party
Improve grandmother’s mood (appears after throwing the dinner party)
Heal negative sentiments (appears after throwing the dinner party)
Optional Goals:
Have siblings befriend each other
Get through a dinner party without fighting
Have siblings apologise to grandmother
Have siblings fight
Donate $10,000 of inheritance to charity
Everyone in this family starts out disliking each other and everyone has negative sentiments with each other. This isn’t one of the easiest Sims 4 scenarios but it does present a pretty fun challenge. The siblings immediately get a fed up message from dear old gran upon starting the scenario.
The only mandatory goal for the first part of this scenario is to throw a dinner party. The optional goals allow you to choose how that dinner party plays out and ultimately, which story ending you will get. Obviously, I wanted to cause as much chaos as possible so that’s what I did!
After spending a few hours out and about in Uptown to meet some Sims I could invite as party guests, I had Nyssa throw the dinner party and start making a lovely meal to serve to her esteemed guests. Since Lila is jealous of her older sister, Ava, I thought it appropriate for them to get in a huge fight over dinner which ended in an all-out brawl! This is already becoming the most entertaining Sims 4 scenario I’ve ever played.
As you might imagine, Nyssa was so disgusted with her granddaughters that she picked up the phone and donated $10,000 of the family inheritance to charity which resulted in this scathing message:
Just a note here: if you don’t see this option on the phone under the Home app, remove your mods. I didn’t see this option at first and it turned out one of my mods was preventing it from appearing.
Although I wanted to wreak utter havoc, this Sims 4 scenario forces you to heal negative sentiments between the siblings before you can move on in the scenario. So unfortunately, I had to try and have everyone play nice with each other for a little while. This turned out to be a lot harder than it looked because the siblings would autonomously be mean to each other constantly, resulting in more negative sentiments.
In the end, I figured out that the game table was a solid way of making the siblings bond. They built relationship quickly and their autonomous mean interactions were far less frequent while working on puzzles or a game of Don’t Wake the Llama together.
In spite of this, however, Eddie still had one pesky negative sentiment with his sisters that did not want to disappear no matter how much he bonded with them, so when he accidentally set himself on fire while trying to cook, I may have… been just a tad slow about calling the fire department. RIP Eddie. This was just a completely unpreventable accident, I swear.
There was only one problem with killing off Eddie to get rid of negative sentiments. This Sims 4 scenario isn’t smart enough to realise when a Sim has died. So the Sims 4 scenario still wanted me to remove negative sentiments in spite of Eddie being dead. I even released his spirit to the netherworld to delete his ghost but nope. Did not work.
Pro Tip: If you play this Sims 4 scenario, trying to get around the goals by killing some of the siblings is not a viable solution.
Become Respectable Adults
Mandatory Goals:
Get a job for all siblings (x3)
Earn $10,000
Optional Goals:
Get promoted
Find a romantic partner for each sibling (x3)
Heal grandmother’s negative sentiments
Burn $50,000 of inheritance
While trying to troubleshoot how I was going to complete this Sims 4 scenario without Eddie, I reloaded the game which seems to have reset the goal counter and the game considered that part of the scenario complete? Weird, but okay, works for me!
This section of the Sims 4 scenario focuses on trying to get the siblings’ life together enough to convince grandma that they deserve a piece of her inheritance. The only mandatory goals here are to get a job for all three siblings and earn $10,000.
After another passive-aggressive message from granny, I faced the same dilemma I had in the previous section of the scenario. How to get Eddie a job when both Eddie and his ghost were gone. If restarting the game before fixed the issue, maybe it would again?
Success! What a weird little workaround to a weird little glitch but I’m just happy there was a way to fix it because this Sims 4 scenario is probably one of my favourites so far. I didn’t want to have to abandon it. Anyway, I got Ava a job as a Style Influencer and Lila a job in the Entertainment business. Perhaps not the most respectable jobs according to grandma, but I’m not exactly trying to impress her, here.
As for the $10,000, that was incredibly easy to do. Since Ava works in fashion now, I just sent her to the bubble tea and thrift shop in Copperdale and had her lazily slap together a bunch of outfits, selling them on Trendi for $10,000 a piece. Someone was bound to bite, right? And they did! Miko Ojo purchased on of Ava’s looks, instantly completing this goal.
My only regret for this section was speeding through it too fast. I didn’t get a chance to do any of the optional goals. I would have really liked to throw some romance in the mix and have grandma burn a buttload more money but oh well.
A New Beginning for the Family
Mandatory Goals:
Mourn grandmother
Read inheritance letter
Engrave grandmother’s urn (End Scenario)
Optional Goals:
Strengthen grandmother’s connection to the physical world
Release grandmother’s spirit
Donate inheritance to charity
Have siblings become best friends
If you were wondering if you’d have to wait a long time for Nyssa to die of old age (or… help her along…), rest easy! Nyssa is programmed to die as soon as you start the third portion of this Sims 4 scenario. How convenient!
Your only mandatory goals here are to mourn Nyssa and read the inheritance letter that spawns in each of the siblings’ inventories upon her death. Engraving Nyssa’s urn is also mandatory; however, doing this ends the scenario so make sure you don’t do this until you’re actually ready to end this Sims 4 scenario.
Once Nyssa has passed, each grandchild will receive an inheritance letter in their inventory. Nyssa has left each grandchild what she thinks they deserve based on their actions throughout the Sims 4 scenario.
Since poor Eddie is no more, only Ava and Lila received an inheritance letter to read. Apparently, Nyssa was incredibly pleased with her oldest granddaughter, Ava, and left her $131,535! Nice score, Ava! But maybe Lila is right to be jealous of her older sister because grandma Nyssa definitely did not favour her. Lila only got $25,247. Ouch!
I figured Lila would be fuming over her piddly inheritance in comparison to her sister so I put her in charge of engraving dear old gran’s urn. Heh heh heh…
I knew Ava was always your favourite you penny-pinching hag!
Gone, but not forgotten…
Scenario Rewards
And this concludes the Family Fortune scenario! I was really hoping to get the Let Grandma Down ending but in spite of my best efforts to sabotage everything I possibly could, I still ended up with the Made Grandma Proud ending. In hindsight, I totally should have burned the $50,000 and donated the inheritance to charity. I might have at least gotten the Giving It All Away ending. Oh well…
My reward for this Sims 4 scenario was satisfaction points for Ava and Lila. I did not receive a bonus reward. Probably because I killed one of the Sims I needed and basically acted like a terrible person the entire time. Meh. It happens.
Our Thoughts
In spite of some awkward hiccoughs along the way, I actually really enjoyed this Sims 4 scenario. There was a lot of optional opportunity for drama and it was also decently challenging. My only regret with this Sims 4 scenario was not taking my time more with it. Had I stopped to smell the roses a little, I could have played around with different endings and done more to sway the story in the direction I wanted.
I’d definitely recommend playing through this scenario a few times. The different possible endings and all the optional paths you can take give it some replay value.
Overall, I’m a big fan of the recent direction Sims 4 scenarios have taken. They have more interesting outcomes, less linear goals, and better rewards than they did when they were first introduced to the game. This scenario was no exception.
Earlier this week the Summer Roadmap revealed that there would be a new Behind The Sims event scheduled for next week!
The Behind The Sims June event has plans to cover a variety of topics including Sims 5 news, The Sims 4 Horse Ranch, The Sims Mobile & Freeplay and the results of the community Kit vote!

Project Rene
It’s been a while since we last had a proper update for Project Rene, in fact, it was during the previous Behind The Sims episode in January that we last saw an update. While there wasn’t a great deal of Sims 5 news during this segment, players sat down with SimGuruGrant and had a look at some of the upcoming features of the game.

It’s uncertain as to what kind of Sims 5 news we will see but any kind of update on Project Rene is exciting to see! So far the most in-depth we’ve seen the game was from the Sims 5 playtest leaks that happened a few months ago. It’s really time for something new!
Community Kit Vote
The community was recently invited to cast their votes for two upcoming Kits. One being for Create A Sim the other being for Build Buy.
For Create A Sim, we were allowed to choose between Rainbow Core and Goth Fashion styles. As for the Build Buy Kit, there was a choice between a Medieval Castle theme or High Tech Futurism.

In Game Overview
The mod itself visually fits in with the overall game interact but it’s what’s past the visuals that make this mod so popular within the community and useful for players.
Before adding the Better Build Buy Mod to your game, you will have found the filters look like those in the image below.
Standard Build Buy Filters
Upon loading into The Sims 4 Build Buy Mode, where you would usually find the various filters, you’ll now find a selection of additional filters.

The most noticeable difference with the mod installed is the new Better Build Buy Menu in the filters screen. While the other categories remain essentially unchanged, you’ll also notice that within Content you have some new options and in Packs you can now filter by individual Kits.

The Sims 4 Better Build Buy Filters
Styles
Styles are as you would expect, an easy way to filter through various object styles in the catalogue including Boho, Suburban Contemporary, Luxe, Basics, and Patio to name a few.
Colours
Just like with styles, this filter gives you the option to filter by specific colour swatches of objects within Build Buy Mode.
Special /Birthday Filter Display in the Sims 4 Better Build Buy Mod
Content
Under the Content section, you’ll find a number of options to choose from, these include the Unlocked, Purchased and Custom Content options that were standard as well as Hide Maxis, Debug and Live Edit.
Unlocks
Here you will find all the objects that you would usually unlock once hitting a specific level in a career or event.
Purchased
Purchased essentially shows you objects that you have obtained from the purchase of additional game content such as Expansion Packs and Stuff Packs.
Hide Maxis
A handy filter option that will hide all Maxis created content and leave you with any custom content you have installed displayed.
Debug
The Debug filter will add all the debug objects that you would usually need to use cheats for to use. This filter works across both Build and Buy mode, and all objects are within the catalogue sections you would expect to find them in.
Live Edit
Much like the Debug filter, this filter will allow you to add objects such as trees, outdoor decor and more to help bring your builds alive!
Custom Content
This filter gives you the option to display just the custom content you have installed in The Sims 4. To make it even easier to navigate this section, you can pair it with the Hide Maxis filter too!
Enhanced Sims 4 DLC Filters
The most notable change under the Packs section is the ability to filter by individual Kits. This is something that, without the mod, players can’t do normally and would be left scrolling for ages trying to find the specific object they are looking for.
Better Build Buy Category
The Better Build Buy Category adds four very useful options for players. Organized Debug, Move Objects On, Ignore Unlocks and Deletion Protection. Each of these are powerful options and can be combined alongside the other filters as usual.
Upon activation, you may be prompted to restart your game so that the filters can work properly. This will only need to be done once when first activating and they will remain active until you remove the filter.

Finally, let your Debug menu be organized! With objects now appearing in the correct sections of the catalogue, you’ll not find yourself scrolling forever to find that one specific tree or decor item!
Move Objects On
Instead of typing in the Move Objects cheat each time the game loads, simply select this filter and never worry about it again!
Ignore Unlocks
Much like the Unlocks filter, Ignore Unlocks allows you to bypass any previously required requirements.
Deletion Protection
Fed up with accidentally deleting objects when trying to place or remove another? Well, fear not, as this option will help stop that from happening!
Like with any of the filters in this Sims 4 Better Build Buy Mod, you can combine multiple ones at the same time. It’s important to note you may need to restart your game for them to work fully.
Better Build Buy: Unique Features
Did you know that the mod also allows you to make changes to the lights when you’re in build mode? Well now you do!
Twitter user, Alex, shared a short clip of the lighting editor working in Build Buy Mode and it shows just how easy it is to make changes to the lighting!

Simply Shift + Click on the light you want to edit and you will be given a small pop up screen where you can make changes to the lights. You can also apply those changes to that individual light, the lights in a particular room, or to all the lights.

The Sims 4 Better Build Buy Mod also has a cinematic camera that can be accessed in Build Buy mode. It works in the exact same way as the normal Tab camera mode does in live mode! Not only will you no longer have to switch between modes to take the perfect screenshot!

Did we also mention that there’s an expandable catalogue as well, which will display even more objects from the catalogue in one go!
How to Download Better Build Buy via Patreon
First things first, you’ll want to head over to TwistedMexi’s Patreon here.
Once you are on Patreon, make sure you check you are about to download the most recent version of The Sims 4 Better Build Buy mod. This can easily be indicated by the version information at the top of the Patreon post. It will also relate to the most recent update.
Example:As of 19th June 2023, the most up-to-date version of The Sims 4 Better Build Buy is v2.10 (Growing Together Release)
You’ll need to install The Sims 4 Better Build Buy mod into your mods folder like normal. You can locate it in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.
It is also important that you follow these exact steps as stated by TwistedMexi directly too.
1. Delete any existing copies you have for BBB. 2. Open the “TwistedMexi’s Better BuildBuy v2.9 RC1” zip and drag the “Tmex-BetterBuildBuy” folder inside to your mods root. (No subfolders!) 3. That’s it! Don’t restructure or move the files in any wayNOTE: On Mac, .zip files may automatically be unzipped when downloaded. In that case, drag the newly downloaded folder to your mods.
Alternatively, you can also download The Sims 4 Better Build Buy Mod through Curseforge. To do this, simply search for TwistedMexi or Better Build Buy in the App or the website and install it directly into your game there.

Sims 4 Horse Ranch Features
The Sims Blog shared lots of Sims 4 Horse Ranch features and luckily for players, went in-depth about horse training and breeding! Details about the new world of Chestnut Ridge have also come to light, as well as plenty of information about town events and activities. There’s something for everyone and there’s a lot to unpack so let’s get to it!
Chestnut Ridge
The new world is called Chestnut Ridge and is a desert landscape inspired by the American West. It contains four areas that we know of so far: New Appaloosa, Rider’s Glen, The Ranches, and a national park area called Galloping Gulch.
It’s unclear at the moment whether Galloping Gulch is a National Park lot type similar to the Granite Falls world of Outdoor Retreat, or if this area is just a very wide open, expansive area in the common space. The Sims Blog did specify that Galloping Gulch contains scenic trails through large rock formations, campfire spots, and picnic areas, however.
Sims traveling through Galloping Gulch may come across the mysterious Dreadhorse Caverns which are worth exploring!
Local Events and Activities
Chestnut Ridge contains a bar, a dance hall (possibly a new lot type), and an equestrian park. Sims can line dance at the dance hall, catch up with friends at the bar, and train their horses at the equestrian park.
Sims can enter equestrian competitions at the Equestrian Centre for simoleons, reward plaques, and other goodies. Skilled riders and their horses can compete in the Ultimate Horse Championship.
New social events include a Ranch Gathering, which is essentially a cookout with dancing involved, and a Ranch Animal Day where Sims can interact with the animals on the ranch.
Nectar making makes a return to the series as one of the new Sims 4 Horse Ranch features. Sims can stomp fruit, potatoes, or… trash? Um. Okay. The bottled nectar can be consumed right away or aged on nectar racks to improve their quality and monetary value.
Farm Chores
There’s lots to do on a ranch and lots of animals to care for. Sims who want a thriving ranch full of happy, healthy animals will need to spend a lot of time caring for them. Mucking out horse beds, grooming, harvesting Prairie Grass for feed, sheering sheep and milking goats are just some of the daily farm chores your Sims will need to keep on top of.
Ranch Hands can be hired as a new service NPC to assist your Sims with keeping up with all the care and maintenance that goes into running a ranch.
Horses
Horses are one of the biggest Sims 4 Horse Ranch features of this expansion pack. Sims can now acquire, care for, and train horses. Horses are fully fleshed out pets similar to cats and dogs. They are household members and are not attached to an object such as a shed like cows and llamas are. They can travel anywhere in the world with your Sims freely.
Sims can get a horse by creating a horse in CAS, rescuing them, breeding them, or purchasing them. That’s right! Breeding mechanics are part of The Sims 4 Horse Ranch features. Sims can breed their horses to get adorable foals that have characteristics of both their dam and sire. Horses that your Sim has bred themselves may even be born with special traits!
Horses are fully customizable in CAS. Choose from plenty of real-world horse breeds and adjust their head shape, tail, mane, withers, body mass, coat length, and more.
Each horse has its own individual personality and foals will develop their personalities from both their trainer and their dam and sire. Horses have four different skills: Temperament, Agility, Jumping, and Endurance. Each skill contributes to how well your horse does in the different equestrian competitions. Agility is linked to barrel racing and Jumping is linked to show jumping, for example.
Indigenous Representation
The Sims Team worked with sensitivity reader, Stacey Parshall Jensen, to incorporate food, objects, and clothing that are representative of Native American culture as part of The Sims 4 Horse Ranch features.
To celebrate the launch of The Sims 4 Horse Ranch, The Sims is making a charitable donation to Sacred Healing Circle, a 100% Indigenous run organization focused on the preservation of Indigenous methodologies and practices. It also supports the Native American Horse Preservation and Research Program, which aims to protect the Native American Horse and the traditional knowledge surrounding the relationship between horses and Indigenous people across the Americas.
Early Purchase Bonus
The Sims 4 Horse Ranch launches on July 20th, 2023 on all platforms. Simmers who purchase the pack by August 31st will receive additional Sims 4 Horse Ranch features in the form of exclusive objects. The Rockin’ Rancher Digital Content contains a new guitar, rocking chair, and wagon wheel wall art.

Much like the Finchwick Fair in The Sims 4 Cottage Living, it looks like we will be getting some similar events in the Horse Ranch expansion too!
Showjumping
One of the many things that it appears players can do with horses is take part in a showjumping event. Whether this is tied to a skill or is a stand alone event, we will have to wait for more but we can’t wait to find out more about this feature!
Customize Your Horse
Much like the Create a Pet from The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs, it appears that you can paint and create your horses in a wide variety of ways. It also leads us to believe that there will be a range of options that will allow us to choose various mane and tail styles as well as saddles.

Saddle up and get riding and explore the new world and neigh-bourhoods that come with The Sims 4 Horse Ranch expansion pack.
Line Dancing
Are you ready to take part and create your own Hoedown Throwdown?
The Sims 4 Horses trailer showcased the upcoming dance style that will be making its way into the new expansion too!
Nectar Ghost Potion?
At around the two-minute mark in The Sims 4 Horses trailer, if you look carefully you’ll see a Ghost Sim take a sip of Nectar and turn back into a Sim! We need to know what secrets are hidden in that Nectar recipe!
New Gnomes
In true The Sims style, if you look carefully, you’ll see a new gnome joining our growing collection!
Barbie Horse?
Several times during the Sims 4 Horses trailer, we see a Sim in a pink-themed outfit. Could this be a nod towards the upcoming Barbie movie release the following day? Even if it’s not, it’s still a pretty cool small detail in the trailer.
New Stand Up Piano
Players had been waiting for what felt like an eternity for stand-up pianos however, we’ve now seen two added to the game in the space of several months!
Now it goes without saying that there was a lot packed into the Sims 4 Horses trailer and there’s still plenty more to discover. From Create A Sim, new Build Buy Mode objects, the new world and more! The Sims 4 Horse Ranch expansion definitely has Simmers wondering what else this expansion has in store for us!

This highly requested Sims 4 feature could be a builder’s dream come true!
It seems EA and Maxis are preparing a big feature update for The Sims 4 according to the latest Horse Ranch Expansion leak. One of them being the long awaited Sims 4 Customizable Ceilings feature! This specific Build Mode feature has been present in previous Sims titles, including The Sims 2 Apartment Life and The Sims 3.
The Sims 4 hadn’t introduced the Customizable Ceilings throughout its live service course of 10+ years. However, the Sims 4 Horse Ranch screenshots below seem to tell that this is about to change.
NOTE: The Customizable Ceilings Feature haven’t been yet confirmed by The Sims Team. This article is based solely on the screenshots from the Horse Ranch Expansion. It’s best to wait with us for the full reveal of the Expansion Pack to know more for certain.

Sims 4 Customizable Ceilings spotted inside a Horse Ranch
We’re not kidding with the headline above. The leaked Horse Ranch screens from Steam have shown colored Ceilings inside of a Horse stable.

The Sims 4 Customizable Ceilings could arrive to Base Game after 10 years
We don’t know for certain if the lot shown in the screenshot is an editable one. The ceiling color variant that appears here is still different from what we have now in The Sims 4 Base Game.
This isn’t the only source of edited ceilings that we’ve found in the Sims 4 Horse Ranch leak. Another screenshot, featuring a Dance Party inside of a Western Barn, also has a hint of Sims 4 Customizable Ceilings. You can see the wodden tiles being subtly applied to the ceiling – right where the doors are:
Ceilings shown in these screenshot samples have different tiles applied to them, it seems. The second screenshot features more darker tones than the first one. But we could be just overanalyzing it for now.
Are these Screenshots a direct confirmation of Sims 4 Customizable Ceilings feature? No. But there’s a peculiar amount of proof already in the Horse Ranch early previews.
The Sims community keeps remaining hopeful at least that they’ll be able to change their ceilings to literally anything else. For real, we’ve been waiting for this one for ages!
Player @Simmatically has pointed out early statements from Maxis devs regarding Editable Ceilings in The Sims 4. Going all the way back in 2018 when developer Grant Rodiek stated the following facts on Twitter:
Truth time: I 100% know you want to edit ceilings. I 100% don’t get it! Don’t worry, it’s on the list.
Grant had also empathized with builders who wanted the Sims 4 Customizable Ceilings feature in the game. Pointing that this feature would be very useful for players who love taking screenshots and Sims 4 Build Mode fans.
That’s all we know – as of now!
Remember, this is just a speculation based on the leaked Sims 4 Horse Ranch screenshots from Steam. We’re hoping to find out more about this feature on June 22nd, 2023 after the next Expansion Pack gets fully revealed.

The Sims 4 Summer Roadmap has just dropped and we are ready to Take The Reins alongside the community! After the previous Take Me Home roadmap explored more homey and cosy themes it looks like we are now switching our perspective and heading outdoors.

Taking a closer look at the teaser image, we can see a mountain-inspired world filled with a short insight into the upcoming content we can expect to see between the end of June and September.
With a Rootin’ Tootin’ Expansion, two bold new Kits, Behind The Sims and even more surprises on the way, needless to say, The Sims Team aren’t horsing around with this Sims 4 Summer Roadmap!
While the Rootin’ Tootin’ Expansion could signal a number of possible themes, it will be interesting to see what the two new bold Kits will be themed around. Additionally a new Behind The Sims event could also give us an update on the Progress of Project Rene too!
Additionally, the teaser image, also states that there is more to come during the next Sims 4 Summer Roadmap period. As to what this could be, the community will have to wait and see.
Let The Sims 4 Summer Roadmap speculation commence!
There has in fact been a lot of speculation recently as to what the next expansion pack could be. With a few leaks appearing online and some hints in-game, many players think that the next expansion pack could well be themed around horses. A theme that has been well-requested by players in the community for a number of years.
As for the two upcoming Kits, it is hard to say what they could be themed around although they could be focused on outdoor activities we haven’t seen before or even some clothing styles that would fit the theme of this Sims 4 Summer Roadmap.
However, upon closer inspection of the roadmap images, something did capture our attention. On the left-hand side of the image, just next to our new Sims head, there are two small images.
The first is a pair of shorts. Could this potentially be a hint towards a summer-themed CAS Kit such as a swimwear Kit? As for the second possible hint, an object that could resemble a chair or possibly a barbecue.
While these two images could mean anything, it does seem possible that the two new Kits will be one CAS-focused and one Build Buy-focused.

How to download and install the latest Sims 4 SDX
With Sims 4 SDX (Sims Delivery Express) you are able to download new Create A Sim Content, Build Mode Content and small bug fixes and improvements into your game. All straight through The Sims 4! Simply open up The Sims 4 and your game should automatically check for new content.
If not, go into Game Options > Sims Delivery and Check for new Content. This method of bringing new Sims 4 SDX content into your game works both on PC and Consoles! Note that you will have to restart your game in order to obtain new content. You can select “Yes, Restart Now” for the game to restart automatically for you.

New Radio Station – R&B
The R&B radio station is now available for all Sims 4 players in the base game! To listen to the new tunes, click on any stereo in Live Mode and select the R&B station to play.
You can also preview all the music in the Game Options, under Music. If there are any tracks you’re not a fan of, just uncheck the box to omit it from the R&B station’s selection.

Book Recolours
To go along with the recently released Book Nook Kit, a set of base game books has gotten a new set of recolours to match the books in the kit. All players will get these base game book recolours even if they do not own the Book Nook Kit. However, players who own the kit will no doubt appreciate having more matching books to pair with it.

Family Fortune Scenario
It’s been a long time since we got a new scenario. We were beginning to wonder if scenarios were dead but apparently, they’re still alive and well! The new Family Fortune scenario is a welcome scenario that will have you playing through a story with a premade family.
The Family Fortune scenario is listed as an Intermediate scenario so we’re looking forward to the challenge when we do our scenario playthrough. Stay tuned for that later in the week!

The Sims Team is adding a new R&B Radio Station to The Sims 4 – plus MORE!
Music lovers and Simlish language connosieurs – this Sims 4 Content Update is for you! The Sims 4 R&B Radio Station is making its way to the Base Game for free on June 20th, 2023. Let’s see what we can expect in this content drop!

New Sims 4 R&B Radio Station
EA and Maxis have revealed on The Sims social networks that The Sims 4 is getting new Simlish music. All packed together in the new R&B Genre that’s making its way for the first time in this game.
Check out the first audio teaser and preview of the new tracks in the Twitter video linked below. You can expect classic Simlish Radio throwbacks and a new Simlish cover of “What’s Love” by Baby Tate.
The last radio station added to The Sims 4 is the Soul Radio, included with the release of Growing Together Expansion Pack. The addition of the Sims 4 R&B Music will be a free Base Game Update, meaning that you’ll have a new Simlish catalogue forever!
Anything else in this Sims 4 Content Drop?
The Sims Team hasn’t confirmed just yet if the Sims 4 R&B Content Update will also include other features / content. Considering that the Content Drop is releasing on a Tuesday, it’s highly more likely that the content will be patched in with a Sims 4 Update. Rather than a Sims 4 SDX Drop.
However, this information hasn’t been confirmed yet, so do take this speculation with a grain of salt.
The last update for The Sims 4 was released just last week, which included minor fixes for The Gallery. Helping support the ongoing maintenance and future improvements of the game’s online library.
Alongside the new addition of Sims 4 R&B Simlish Music, we’re also hoping to see some word about The Sims 4 on Consoles.
