As you all might know The Sims Team is doing two big releases for The Sims 4 THIS WEEK! The first one is a huge update for The Sims 4 Base Game that’s rolling out for both PC and Xbox One / PS4 on June 2nd! The update is bringing some huge new features to the game including Ladders, Firefighters, Bills & Utilities, Free Window / Door Placement and more that we’ve covered here!

The other big release is The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack that’s coming out on both PC and Consoles on June 5th. Just like with previous Expansion Pack releases this one’s going to have 5 different release times and you can find out exactly when the pack’s coming out in your territory HERE!

The Sims 4 Base Game Update

The first big thing that we’re getting is tomorrow’s huge update for the base game with some of the following additions:

  • Build Mode Object Stats Revamp
  • Off-The-Grid Improvements
  • Ladders
  • Free Placement of Windows & Doors
  • Bills & Utilities Revamp
  • Repomen
  • Firefighters
  • Inventory 2.0
  • Updated World Descriptions

The update will revamp a lot of things so if you have some Mods / CC installed on your PC expect for them to be disabled after the update automatically. It’s also worth noting that the update will probably affect and break some of the current versions of the mods you might have so make sure you keep track of updates from the creators of such mods! If your game is broken after the update and you’ve enabled Mods / CC make sure you disable them until creators release newer versions of their mods.

Here are some useful articles to help ensure a stabile CC / Mods experience after updating The Sims 4:

So my special needs daughter has the Sims Legacy and she pre purchased the Eco expansion pack and has not be able to download it. I was on chat with Origin and they said that her Legacy won’t run the new release. Is that anyone else’s issue? The basically said and I have it in writing that becuase she has the legacy she will not be able to play the Eco pack.

Perhaps try restarting your Xbox. I have ladders, updated billing, improved inventory etc.

My only issue now is that I pre-ordered the Eco Lifestyle and although I installed the 1.4G update and it’s in my list of Sims 4 add-ons; the game itself is still telling me to download to use. I’ve tried rebooting my Xbox so no clue. I’ll have to try Uninstaller then reinstalling. Hopefully that works.

Yes but they Xbox, PS4 and pc have different release hours. So you might not see it right away when the PC version come out first, I recommend waiting a day to see if the update is there because my PS4 usually don’t show me an update til the end of the week

Mac doesn’t fall under the PC category due to having different system specs, and being am Apple-only product. The Mac settings are listed directly under The PC settings, and if it helps my 6 year old mac-book air is currently able to run the Sims at a decent quality

@Shydajah, only some Macs are laptops. Some Macs are desktop computers.
